Watching Jaguar commit brand suicide is like watching a slow train derailment. I can’t look away. I do product planning in the automotive industry. It’s my job to know drivers (not “users”) and define product strategies based on their wants and needs. I know for a fact whatever the hell this is, it does not reflect the people who buy Jaguars. How does a company get hijacked by marketers who are so disconnected from their customers? How did an entire company sit back and watch a rogue team of woke agency kids drive their iconic brand off a cliff? Why did no one stop them?

@kaseyklimes Interesting! Any insight into why google maps still has so much difficulty identifying safe cycling routes? I’m in Vancouver with a decent network of bike routes but Maps still gives terrible directions.

this got talked about a lot when I worked on google maps. I would personally love this feature, and it’s technically feasible. here’s why I fought it loudly every time it came up 🧵

This video camera study showed that less than 5% of people on bikes broke traffic laws while riding, yet 66% of people did so when driving. And if you REALLY want even MORE bike-riders to obey laws, build more protected bike infrastructure. Via @carltonreid
