The few who get the closest to true introspection usually end up trapped in a conceptual prison because their thoughts can only show them a compressed, fragmented model of reality, and then they mistake the map for the territory. Thought cuts the world into little pieces, labels them, fills in the gaps, and presents the result in your own voice. And because the voice of thought sounds like you, the mind cannot recognize the distortion for what it is, so any interpretation feels like truth. That's how the cage closes. That's how a man disappears into his own mind. A classic Hofstadter death loop.
