@JoshuaBarzon Standard time. It fits our natural circadian rhythms better and has been shown to be healthier. Also, in many places during the winter it will be dark till 8am and that’s just not safe.

Which would you choose if you could only keep one year-round?
(1) Standard Time (more daylight in the morning, earlier sunsets)
(2) Daylight Saving Time (darker mornings, more daylight in the evening)

@Homerpezz @ROBO_Tim @BuzzPatterson They literally tried it in the 70s and it didn’t last because everyone hated it. It was still dark at 8am and there were concerns about kids’ safety. Plus our natural circadian rhythms fit better with standard time.

People that complain about going to work in the dark would also complain about going home in the dark.

Just now: The House has passed the bill to get rid of daylight savings!
The U.S. House passed H.R. 139 by a 308-117 vote to make daylight saving time permanent nationwide, ending twice-yearly clock changes, with strong Republican support and significant Democratic backing.
President Trump endorsed the Sunshine Protection Act, which advances after committee approval earlier in 2026 and now requires Senate action for potential nationwide implementation.
I’m all for it! Think of the ease when you do business across time zones or when you fly!

@TomBuck @ShinarSquirrel Agreed. They tried Daylight Savings year-round in the 70’s and it was a tremendous failure. Children were going to school in the dark and car accidents increased. They quickly went back.

We noticed this data was missing from the algo and it made your friends appear less in your replies. This resulted in the reply section feeling more like a battleground with people you don't recognize. Dental saga LATEST update: Update: I emailed asking if the termination letter was sent in error. They replied that it was not. They specifically stated the decision was not based on my children’s dental health, behavior, or the quality of our visit. They also said they appreciated my recommendation of their office.
However, they refused to give any actual reason for dismissing us as patients and canceled my child’s scheduled treatment.
So I’m left with no explanation other than, “We’ve decided not to establish an ongoing doctor-patient relationship.”
So. I put it all out on the line.. here is what I sent back and after this what’s done is done:
Thank you for your response. I understand the decision is final, and I’m not asking you to reconsider it. I’m trying to understand what prompted it.
One concern I have is whether this decision was related in any way to my having sought a second opinion and filed a complaint regarding another dental practice. If so, I would appreciate knowing that. As a parent, I believed I had a responsibility to report concerns that I genuinely felt warranted review after receiving a dramatically different second opinion. I don’t believe seeking a second opinion or filing a good-faith complaint should, by itself, make a family unsuitable for care.
If that was not a factor, I would appreciate any additional context you’re willing to provide so I can better understand your decision.

I’m confused because Dr. ___ examined all three of my children, we had a great visit, I’ve recommended you to several people, and one of my children is already scheduled for treatment. Hello again.
We’re currently in Clemson, South Carolina. I’ve decided to come back here to document the final part of our road trip.
The main reason I deactivated my account two weeks ago was that things became increasingly toxic. For some people, it’s unfortunately unfathomable that a good story can exist without some kind of hidden agenda behind it. There was even a Reddit group going through my entire account trying to find anything they could use to reveal my identity.
I know this was only a small percentage of people, but after a while it became exhausting. During the last two weeks, I received so many kind messages on Instagram, and they really made me realize how many people genuinely enjoyed following the trip. Some people even told me that their grandparents regularly ask them, “What are the Germans up to today?” I think that’s really cool.
I decided to continue because I realized that the overwhelming majority of people loved following along. A small group of very loud people shouldn’t be able to ruin something that brought so many others joy.
I also want to clear something up, as people who follow me on Instagram already know.
I’ve been to the United States before. This is not my first visit, and I’ve never claimed that it was. The last time I was here was in January 2022, when I visited New York and Philadelphia.
A lot of people shared my Raising Cane’s post from November 2025 to make it look like I was secretly American. That post wasn’t from the United States, it was from my trip to Saudi Arabia.
This is my first time back in the U.S. in more than four years, and apart from Boston, I’d never visited any of the places we’ve been to on this trip before. That’s probably why many people assumed it was our first time in America, because for all of these places, it actually was.
And let me tell you, Ohio and Alabama are very different from New York City or Los Angeles.

NEW UPDATE ON DENTIST DRAMA: what. Is. Happening?! I just got a letter in the mail from the NEW awesome dentist the kids went to.. and they told me I need to find a NEW DENTIST! 🤯 what is even happening. Why would they do this? I did file a complaint about the other dentist… because if you’ve been following, it was needed. 😩
