I presided over the @LawSocietyofKe 2026 Annual General Meeting in Machakos earlier today. At the end of the meeting, I witnessed the swearing in of @ckanjama and the 2026-2028 Council, and handed over the instruments of the presidency to the 52nd President. It has been an honour serving the Law Society of Kenya and the Country. I wish Senior Counsel and his team well in their tour of service.

BREAKING: Étienne Davignon, 93 year old coloniser and former EU supremo, has been charged with complicity in the murder of Patrice Lumumba. This is genuinely huge news. Great news. "Every day for the thief, one day for the owner" - African proverb.

Mapping Identifies 37 Flood-Prone Areas in Nairobi Heavy rains continue to be experienced in different parts of the country, increasing the risk of flooding in both rural and urban areas, with Nairobi among the most affected. A mapping exercise conducted under the Nairobi Rivers Regeneration Programme has identified 37 neighbourhoods located along major river corridors and locations vulnerable to flooding. In Nairobi East, the areas identified include Kiambiu, Dandora, Kariobangi, Kayole, Komarock, Njiru, Ruai, Mwiki, Donholm, Savannah, Tassia, and Fedha, many of which lie downstream along sections of the Nairobi River and its tributaries. In Nairobi West, flood-prone locations include Madaraka, Nairobi West, Lang’ata, Kawangware, Kangemi, Lavington, Westlands, Parklands, Kitisuru, Spring Valley, Kileleshwa, and Chiromo, areas situated along upstream and midstream sections of the river network. In the Nairobi North corridor, neighbourhoods such as Mathare, Korogocho, and Lucky Summer have been identified along the Mathare River, where dense settlements closely border the river banks. Within Nairobi Central, key locations along the river corridor include the Central Business District (CBD), Globe, Gikomba, Eastleigh, and the Industrial Area, where sections of Nairobi River pass through. In Nairobi South, the mapping highlights Kilimani, Kibera, South C, South B, Mukuru Kwa Reuben, and Kwa Njenga, many of which lie along the Ngong River corridor. As multi-agency disaster response teams continue to coordinate relief and response efforts, residents living near riparian and in low-lying areas are urged to remain vigilant and prioritize their safety during periods of heavy rainfall.

I extend my sincere gratitude to all who joined me for #PsOlugaThanksgiving celebration at Okela Primary School in Uyoma Village, Siaya County. Your presence made the occasion deeply meaningful and memorable. I am particularly honoured by the support and fellowship of our Chief Guest, @WilliamsRuto, whose presence added great significance to the day. I also wish to express my appreciation to my boss and friend, Health Cabinet Secretary @HonAdenDuale; the ODM Party leader, Oburu Odinga; Kenya’s Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), Canon Dr Ida Betty Odinga; and the Head of Public Service, Felix Koskei, who led many public servants — including Cabinet Secretaries and my colleague Permanent Secretaries — in joining us for this special moment of gratitude and reflection. I am equally grateful to the thousands of friends, colleagues at @MOH_Kenya, health professionals — including Community Health Promoters — and well-wishers who travelled from far and wide to celebrate with my family. Your prayers, encouragement and solidarity are a powerful reminder of the strength of community, service and faith. Above all, I give thanks to the Almighty God for His grace, guidance and abundant blessings. This thanksgiving was an opportunity to reflect with humility on the journey thus far and to renew our commitment to serve our nation and communities with diligence, integrity and compassion. May the spirit of thanksgiving continue to inspire us all. May God richly bless you for your goodwill, friendship and unwavering support.

Some came calling for the sugarcane buyers, You know business. Others with bananas in their baskets, You know business.) ~ Kaw Gino Super Kings. The daughters of Akala, immortalized in Kaw Gino Super Kings' song, have long shown remarkable enterprise. Soon, they will no longer have to hawk and run along the roadside. The government, recognizing their ingenuity and drive, is creating a safe haven where their trade can flourish. The Akala ESP Market, implemented by the State Department for Housing and Urban Development, is now 90% complete. Situated in Akala, a well-known regional hub for fresh garden produce, livestock and fruits like mangoes and bananas, the market comes as a timely investment along the busy Kisian–Bondo–Usenge highway. Designed to replace informal roadside vending, the modern facility provides structured stalls, sanitation facilities and specialized storage to protect produce, preserve quality and support traders. The State Department for Internal Security and National Administration continues to play a key role in ensuring a secure and orderly implementation, safeguarding both the locals and the public infrastructure.

There’s an interesting thing that happens when supermarkets start producing their own branded items. Now they’re quietly becoming competitors. The last time I went to Naivas I saw Naivas milk and couldn’t find brookside milk coz it was out of stock. I’ve used brookside for over 10 years and now the shelves are changing. Was shocked to notice Carrefour milk too.
You’ll notice supermarket brands are almost always cheaper than the well-known ones. Hehe, strategy they say and they’ve better shelf placement where you can’t miss them🤣 But here’s where the customer mind gets interesting. For me, cheap is not always a choice. It’s Saturday morning and just realized I have a few pieces of milk and I need a quick Brookside milk delivery from Carrefour. Guess whatis fully available? The supermarket’s own brand. Of course. 🤣 … not my darling Brookside. This is a subtle shift. We’re now competing on control of supply, shelf space and visibility. I’d like to know… are you’re choosing cheaper option because you want it…
or because it’s the easiest one left to choose? PS… Connect me to a Brookside supplier 😂
