Robert’s answer is not Reform policy. As the person responsible for our deportation plan I want ensure people know where we stand: If a foreign national lives in social housing at taxpayer expense, they automatically fail our economic test and will be deported.
Basil the Great@BasilTheGreat

Robert Jenrick admits Reform UK will NOT deport foreign nationals living in social housing Trevor Phillips showed him Restore Britain's deportation plans and was clear "YOU DON'T AGREE WITH RESTORE'S POLICIES" There are approx. half a MILLION social homes currently occupied by foreign nationals in the UK Deport them all and give those homes to British people Reform are just weak sauce It's time to Restore Britain

As a journalist I think it’s extraordinary Julia Gillard was able to do a Hay event without facing a question about the negative impact of her legislative changes on women’s rights in Australia, given what a story this has been recently. Not for lack of audience trying it seems.
teresa smith@treesey

The woman trying to ask Ms Gillard a question “was interrupted by moderator Katya Adler who said “we are finished”’ reports @jacquelinmagnay for @australian Sad to see no debate allowed by @BBCkatyaadler at the @hayfestival @salltweets archive.is/Y1W4O

The emails from the Labour Party asking for support for Andy Burnham to win an unnecessary by election are just surreal. I doubt people will forget.

Looking at the Murrell expenditure I find myself so baffled that I wonder whether this isn't a psychological relative of compulsive shoplifting

@DeborahGuina1 Hard agree. Comms are a shambles but they’re pushing water uphill. Lisa Nandy needs to start doing her job.

I firmly believe Labour would be mistaken if they try & replace Starmer. Policies are starting to work & he should see out his term. Fingers up to R/W media with their bullying & lies. They also needs to up their comms massively. But for the future, Darren Jones is one to watch

This toilets business needs to be taken back to first principles. Women have their own in order to be free of men. Trans-claiming men claim to be fearful of their fellow men. Their solution is to impose their manly presence upon women. Hands up who spots the collapse in logic.

Coming together seems an odd idea Lucy when the purpose of this by election is clearly to unseat a Labour PM who led the party to extraordinary success less than 2 years ago ….
Lucy Powell MP@LucyMPowell

To beat Reform in Makerfield we’ve all got to come together as one Labour team with our best available players. Speaking to @MirrorPolitics about what’s at stake in this by-election 👇🏻 mirror.co.uk/news/politics/…

JK Rowling mansplained, by Sarah Ditum (@sarahditum) What happened to JK Rowling? If only there were some kind of primary source that could tell us why she became interested in the clash between trans activism and women’s rights — say, a first-person essay. But alas, the archive is silent. It must be, because why else would two male podcasters have taken it upon themselves to solve this supposed mystery? This week, the ‘Origin Story’ podcast, hosted by indistinguishable journalists Ian Dunt and Dorian Lynskey, bravely shouldered the burden of analysing Rowling over the course of two episodes. Do they succeed? Not remotely. But they do offer a fascinating insight into what happens when a certain kind of progressive man becomes radicalised by Bluesky. Read more below ⬇️ buff.ly/fyIiwWg

99% of the wine consumed in England is imported. Yet there are now over 1,000 vineyards producing award-winning wine on home soil, with sales growing year on year. If just 5% of the market shifted to local producers, that's around £750 million a year staying here. Supporting jobs, businesses and investment across the country. That's exactly why we're building MadeInEngland.com. Follow us as we uncover the people, products and businesses that make England special.

@pinkandtweed I had two Battersea rescues Rafa and Hamish - both died aged 16. I can’t believe how much I miss them two years on. Hope the leg recovers fast!

I do find is strange how some people don’t like cats. They really are the most amazing, intuitive & loving animals. I managed to break my leg last night & my Arthur hasn’t left my side all day. A great furry nurse. 🐈‍⬛ 🥰

The UK working time directive means you can't be forced to work more than an average of 48 hours a week. Reform's attempts to normalise 40+ hour working weeks are a clear attempt to set an agenda of rolling back on employment rights workers have fought for over the past century

This is such a thoughtful and nuanced piece by @joshi. An insightful critique not just of Burnham, but of how politics works - or doesn’t work - in our country. Well worth your time
Joshi Herrmann@joshi

I’ve been writing about Andy Burnham in Manchester for a while. We’ve had a few run-ins but I think he has qualities that many people don’t appreciate and weaknesses that spell trouble. I wrote this for @ManchesterMill - I hope it’s insightful and fair. manchestermill.co.uk/stop-looking-f…

I’ve lost count of the number of Tory MPs @RhonddaBryant has called out for lying about Russian sanctions. The problem for the govt is the MSM are repeating the same lies. If only @lisanandy would start doing her job instead of campaigning for the Ego of the North.
Chris Bryant@RhonddaBryant

@MelJStride @Conservatives Mel please stop lying. You’re doing Putin’s work for him. Until this week there were no sanctions on Russian oil products processed elsewhere coming into the uk (including under your government). From this week there are. Some products are banned immediately. Other are phased out
