I finally did it! After >20 years on MacOS last year I fully switched to Linux, today I also finally ditched my iPhone for a Pixel with GrapheneOS. The hardest thing was migrating data... iMessage has group chats, Android does not and your messages will end up in a bit of a mess. I'd love to live without Whatsapp, but unfortunately everybody around me is using it and also group chats of free time activity for my children are managed on Whatsapp. If you migrate from iOS to GrapheneOS, make sure to migrate your WA data first to stock Android, since there is no easy way to migrate Whatsapp directly from iOS to GrapheneOS. The only Google app I use is the camera, since it's much better than Graphene's standard camera app, but it works perfectly without Google services thanks to Gcam. I have two map apps, since I'm not yet sure which one is better for navigation. Any app recommendations?

@MonericaProject @monerobull @SeraiDEX Fair enough, I value your contribution to the ecosystem and don't want war. However, Serai is beside FCMP++ the best thing to be excited in Monero.

“Best” is going to be relative to the individual. The post said “fastest”. Instant exchanges are the fastest way to get Monero, without installing software. Read terms, etc. If “best” means most private then being purely peer-to-peer and not using any exchange or software order book would be better. For some people “best” means a KYC CEX because jurisdiction and compliance is their top priority. Ultimately, you decide what “best” means based on your priorities: speed, reliability, counterparty risk, compliance, privacy, technical expertise and so on.

The recent Thorchain incident just proves this point. Innovation is great but exploits, poor user experience, untested code, why put so much hope in this?

@MonericaProject @monerobull @SeraiDEX Your initial post preaching instant exchanges are the best way to get Monero. They are not, they are CEX in dubious jurisdictions or without jurisdiction, most of them tracing every transaction. You should always prefer a DEX over a CEX, if possible.

These are all crypto-to-crypto instant swaps. If a DEX wanted to be a sponsor, they could be. It’s a free market. But does a Monero DEX even exist? Not really. The closest things are: monerica.com/exchanges/dece… and monerica.com/exchanges/soft… If you really feel strongly about this, then become an affiliate and get a DEX to become a sponsor and get paid 50% of what they pay.

There are very few account based CEX sites that don’t require KYC. Yes, that’s why we’re saying both longevity and reputation. We have the founded date, a status (scam, questionable), reviews, supporting links, e.g. monerica.com/site/changelly No one can predict the future. But we’ve spent 4+ years cataloging every detail we get submitted so people can make an informed decision.

@MonericaProject @monerobull @SeraiDEX Most CEX require exactly this. However, there are indeed CEX which provide swaps crypto to crypto without KYC. Fiat will be difficult. But always remember changelly which is known in the community for years to pick few customers to scam. They are still operating.

@janowitz @XMRVoid I’m pretty sure even GrapheneOS wouldn’t really recommend TOR on Android, unless you ABSOLUTELY need it, it isn’t as secure as it is on desktop.
