I finally did it! After >20 years on MacOS last year I fully switched to Linux, today I also finally ditched my iPhone for a Pixel with GrapheneOS. The hardest thing was migrating data... iMessage has group chats, Android does not and your messages will end up in a bit of a mess. I'd love to live without Whatsapp, but unfortunately everybody around me is using it and also group chats of free time activity for my children are managed on Whatsapp. If you migrate from iOS to GrapheneOS, make sure to migrate your WA data first to stock Android, since there is no easy way to migrate Whatsapp directly from iOS to GrapheneOS. The only Google app I use is the camera, since it's much better than Graphene's standard camera app, but it works perfectly without Google services thanks to Gcam. I have two map apps, since I'm not yet sure which one is better for navigation. Any app recommendations?

@JavierHermosa21 @LinaSeiche I agree, the whole world is heading to a dystopia worse than Orwell's 1984. Whether it is data preservation, scanning personal communication, or mass video surveillance currently rolled out in the U.S., it's all going in the wrong direction.

Ok, I appreciate the clarification. I was assuming it was Chat Control 2.0 that was voted the other day. In any case, the push by the EU is for 2.0. MiCA, DSA8... it's all going in the same direction. The excuse is to "stop illegal activities". The goal in reality is the transparent citizen. A China-type dystopia. And like @jordanbpeterson says, encroachment happens one small step at a time. reddit.com/r/JordanPeters…

Very very very misleading, Paul. The US scans algorithmically unencrypted messages. Unencrypted messaging is like shouting on the street. This law wants to allow providers (and force them) to scan messages that are intended to be sent encrypted before they are encrypted… therefore defeating the purpose of encryption altogether. Try again.

New FUD campaign incoming? "[...] the suspects allegedly used the privacy-focused cryptocurrency Monero to buy access to dark web forums [...]" Most probably they paid directly from their KYC exchange. darkwebinformer.com/norway-arrests…

@blockchainchick Bitcoin has a planned obsolescence, and with the holy 21M, I don't really see a way out of it.

Both @XMRVoid and @MarkA_builds want their followers to believe that: > "Wagyu is a scam" > Wagyu has zero trading volume > Wagyu has zero real users > Wagyu has zero community > Wagyu's sponsored X accounts are paid poorly > Wagyu has no motion While at the same time promoting an unknown Ching Chong Honeypot swap service called @splitnow. In other news, Wagyu's $XMR trading volume surpassed **$40 Million** over the weekend btw. Wagyu's DEX is now by far the most popular exchange for trading $XMR. 🐮

Hey @CR1337, you have a partnership with them. What's going on there? Seems like a rug pull, since no swaps available, no recent tx listed and apparently they deleted their X account.
Andy Fichte@BerggoldDigital

We all know what the three biggest problems with common printers are: 1) Ink rip-offs 2) Planned obsolescence 2) Unrepairable hardware Today I stumbled upon 'OpenPrinter', a fully repairable, open-source inkjet that uses cheap refillable HP cartridges (no DRM), prints sheets or rolls with auto-cutter, Raspberry Pi powered + no drivers needed on any OS. If I ever get a printer again, this will be the one:

@hrstrnqlzr @CR1337 @GrapheneOS Valid argument. However, it makes it tremendously harder to get the whole picture of yourself. The attacker would need to know with whom I communicate and which channels I use to do so. When you use different identities in SimpleX, it will be really hard to get the whole picture.

'Democracy' in the EU 🇪🇺 be like: "The Council adopted a corresponding position for a “new” regulation on Thursday via written procedure to close a looming legal loophole and increase pressure on MEPs." They will never stop to push Chat Control.

@OrangeFren Monero doesn't care about MiCA, we are delisted on every CEX operating in Europe anyway. And still I hear about some people holding, dealing, and shopping with $XMR. But tell nobody!
