@Clant1015 Love it. Unpredictable like in a game. I would like to do a 2 machine drill where they could get a hard slider or a slower curve.

@jarrodr123 Even better when it’s an OG jugs machine with super wobbly wheels. Every 10th slider or so was gonna back up on you and blow up your thumbs or hit you 😂

Cub Gold glove OF Ian Happ made it clear that the players are not considering a strike/walk out, that it’s more a MLB ownership issue to lockout if no CBA is approved after December 2026.

@MerklesBoners @MLBBruceLevine I am a whitesox fan and they are far worse. But instead of blaming the dodgers for actually trying to win, I blame Jerry Reindorf for being a cheap owner.

@MerklesBoners @MLBBruceLevine Kyle Tucker is a talent in short supply and in high demand- therefore the cost for him is high. He is free to sign with the team that is willing to give him the best deal. That is capitalism. You want price controls bc your owners are too cheap or greedy to spend enough $.

@MerklesBoners @MLBBruceLevine What you are describing is price control which is the opposite of letting the market decide. Maybe if enough fans significantly stopped consuming the product and profits dwindled- then salaries would come down- but that clearly hasn’t happened.

@jarrodr123 @MLBBruceLevine There is nothing more anti-communist than supply and demand. The people who consume the product are demanding a more level playing field for their teams. Thus… a salary cap. Thanks for playing though.

@MLBBruceLevine Well the players better agree to a salary cap then, because anything less is a non-starter. It’s what fans want. Do what is right by those who actually pay your salaries… the people that consume this game you are lucky enough to play.

Day 31 of 31 In the month of December I am going to drop 31 (1 for each day) personal opinions about the game of baseball. “The day you realize you know nothing is the day you start to learn everything.” Everything I do at PHSC has been stolen from someone else and made our own. Like Solomon says in the Bible: “There is nothing new under the sun.” Learn from others. Steal from others. Then make it your own. Too many people in this game are closed-minded and unwilling to change. What works today at PHSC may not work next year. Forever change and forever evolve. Every level of baseball is different, and the game continues to change. Change with it — and you will have a chance to survive. Happy New Year! Change my mind!

Day 20 of 31 In the month of December I am going to drop 31 (1 for each day) personal opinions about the game of baseball. The game is called "baseball" for a reason. They didn’t name the game baseball “hitball,” “throwball,” “catchball,” or “runball” for a reason. Whoever controls the bases usually wins the baseball game. Yes, we try to keep the other team from scoring, but the goal is to make every step of that process as difficult as possible. We take a lot of pride in defending first base and making sure the least amount of baserunners get there, and that mindset continues around the bases. On offense, walks, hit by pitches, and stolen bases are a premium. Your team should be taught how to earn them the same way they are taught how to hit a baseball up the middle. Change my mind!

I've been reporting in East Africa on the impact of President Trump's USAID cuts, and I find that not only are children dying in large numbers but the pace is accelerating as stockpiles run out and people grow weaker. I also obtained an internal Trump administration memo stating that the cost of shutting down USAID is $6.4 billion over two years. That sum could save more than 1 million children's lives; instead, it is being spent to to shut down programs that save lives. Help spread the word. nytimes.com/2025/09/20/opi…
