Youth coaches: Please teach your fiielders the difference between a force play and a tag play and to get off the base when there is no play. This middle-school 3B could have legally gotten trucked twice, and nobody wants that.

@FiskPT Some coaches teach this with a purpose: to slow the runners down.
To prevent this, it must be brought to the attention of the umps prior to the game. Otherwise these win at all costs coaches run these type of shenanigans.

If you think youre good enough to play college baseball you should be absolutely dominating high school baseball. Not like 1-3 with an rbi single every other game. Not like like 4er thru 6ip. DOMINATING. Like it should be easy for you. Some of you have never even made all conference talking about getting committed like bro you’re not even the best player in your town. Get real guy there’s gonna be a pissed off D1 transfer dying for your spot that already knows how to do college and you think you’re gonna win because you hit .325 once at a small high school. You better hope somebody does you a favor and tells you the truth before it’s too late. You’re lucky you’re even getting this information for free some of you are getting charged 3k a summer and don’t even get that truth.

Here’s some reality for you tho. The quality of baseball in high school and most of college now is shit. Mainly because people want to play 100 games starting at 8u instead of working on fundamentals and teaching the game. Instead we teach kids to throw max velo and increase exit velocity to get D1 coaches to look at them. And then you watch these kids and all they do is walk people and have beautiful, violet swings and misses.

If you coach college baseball I’ll tell you right now unless you’re a D1 assistant you’re probably broke sadly. The ones who have wives and GF’s with money you can swing it but if you’re on your own you’re broke. And in some cases you’re scary broke till you make it.

Nobody makes it to the big leagues throwing 90 mph anymore. When you tell kids "don't try to throw hard," you're basically telling them "don't try to make it to D1 or the majors."

Another high school coach said to me this week: “You see kids committing D1 off exit velo, ‘upside’ and showcases… Then you check the H.S. stats—and they’re hitting in the .100s.” He asked: “If you’re a D1 guy, shouldn’t you be lighting up H.S. pitching?” Thoughts on this?
