@EoseSim @RegentWalnut530 I’m just trying to point out that it wasn’t just luck. He actually made the save. Barely, but still a save.
English

@jason_drolet @RegentWalnut530 Yeah of course how could it not, it would've ended up in net if he didn't touch it
English

Luckiest goalie in the league right there

THE SENS WERE THIS CLOSE TO WINNING GAME 2 😮 📺: Sportsnet
English

@SensCentral I actually prefer these over the traditional reds. This series feels like the 2023 ECF Carolina vs Florida. Every game felt one bounce away from flipping, even though it ended in a sweep.
English

@jason_drolet I just hate those jerseys... official prediction was Sens in 7... let's see how the series looks shifting to Ottawa. Great couple wins for your boys for sure, they held serve
English

Goal was overturned due to Jordan Staal having possession but NOT control of the puck before he crosses the line.
Looking at this, I'm not sure how you can say that he did not have control of the puck.

@mfalexlol @Senators Keep telling yourself that. Whatever helps you sleep at night.
English

@Senators islanders fan here, this is what it feels like to play the hurricanes. mix of stupid bounces, dick riding refs, and horrible fans
English

Video review indicated Jordan Staal had possession but not control when his skates went over the blueline

This rule explains why the penalty shot still happened after the offside
English

@crypto_tarnado @chicagojaws @senstalk_ I get your argument. But those are the rules. Consider this: if there wasn't a goal scored, you can't challenge the offside in order to negate a penalty.
English

@chicagojaws @jason_drolet @senstalk_ No it doesn't. It assesses a penalty that only happened because the refs fucked up. Had they called the original offsides from the start the penalty wouldn't have occured in the first place.
English

@Kratzey16 @Steve_Dangle @TheHockeyNews I’m sure some people left befoe the 1st OT goal was overturned. And I know for a fact that if you leave that arena, they do not allow you to come back in.
English

@Steve_Dangle @TheHockeyNews Did you notice all the empty seats in the lower bowl during the 2nd OT!!! Must have to work early……. 🤦🏼♂️
English

@formerlyaangozz @Pinsky @Steve_Dangle Martinook wasn’t offside. Apparently, they ruled that Staal had possesion but NOT control of the puck (whatever that means) as he crossed the blue line.
English

@Pinsky @Steve_Dangle I understand the penalty still counting, I don't understand how you call a penalty shot when the player on a breakaway was deemed offside. The hook still happened, but the breakaway part seems VERY affected by the result of the offside. Just a weird sequence.
English

@MrBond___ @davidalter Another way to look at it. Only a goal can be overturned due to a missed stoppage. You can’t challenge that after a penalty call.
English

@davidalter I can understand this part of it, so I do believe any major penalty should still be enforced, but a 2 minute minor that happens after an offside just makes no sense to me
English

This essentially protects players. Say a player on the opposing team knows it’s offside and is fairly confident. This makes sure the player doesn’t go ahead and do something dumb knowing he won’t be penalized.

English

@paddle_down @FriedgeHNIC He only bobbles it after he crossed the line where he had the puck on his stick.
English

@FriedgeHNIC This has always been the rule for aslong as I can remember. Its the right call despite how some feel. If you bobble it...you don't have control for that split second.
English

HOW IS THAT A PENALTY SHOT IF THE OFFSIDE OCCURRED PRIOR TO THE PENALTY?!! THE FIX IS IN
