Sorry X, I can't any more. Every time I open this app I get a torrent of polarised, polemicised bile. None of the lovely, interesting stuff I joined for in 2008. I'm uninstalling the app to stem the inflow of this bilge. I guess I'm still available for DMs. :(

When people are buying you whisky as a present, do you want them to always stick to the old reliable bottle you love or are you open to discovering something new?

@monstroso Cnut! (or some spelling variation thereof) ... Oh, "BY" monarchs. Errm. Dunno. Maybe Trevor?

Good pub quiz question. What name has been used by the most of our monarchs?

@jeffreyjohnbell These days? It's Brock. Before I got married it was Benjamin, but I figured I wasn't using the "enjamin", so swapped it for "rock". My wife and my daughter have the same middle name. We're a little cluster of BStandings.

Today I tried Microsoft Defender for Cloud Apps and enabled a DLP policy to block copy and paste. Exciting I thought. Till I found it only blocks bits and bobs on the page I was testing. That's a bit pants. :-/ I assume others have found this? Might be iframe related.

@jameschant Hi James! Customer and fan of Matsudai here. Any chance you can DM me a contact email? I wanted to talk about Subscriptions (in a non-sales way). Thx.

@jeffreyjohnbell I reckon there's plenty of ppl who'd order pints of the stuff if they didn't think it'd attract judgement.

@tuttonp @EricIdle Was that the 1st night? I recall overhearing a very tall chap (6'5"?) dressed as a Mountie talking to his friend on the phone - "No, I'm around by door 34... If you come to the... Look, you'll probably see me - to be honest".

@Travnat @katebevan They had to do SOMETHING - it already finished with "o" so there was no way to shorten it into a nickname.

@katebevan The Aussies have gone one further and nouned it: they eat IN the al fresco (short for "al fresco dining area").

Kate isn't really here any more
I knowthe weather is lovely but I'm automatically unfollowing anyone who says they're eating "al fresco". There's simply no excuse for using that phrase.

If I’ve learned anything from motherhood it’s that despite being superficially the same size, I’ve got one boob that’s quite hard work and one that’s lush green pastures.

@Kavey Irrelevant, but I caught myself giggling the other day at the thought that our Kitchen Aid, Nutribullet, washing machine, and stick blender are all just things that make other things go in circles.

@TheWhiskyWire Ooooooh, nice. We polished off my last one of them at my 40th, with much enthusiasm. Congrats on the milestone and keep up the fine work!

This week marks the 14th anniversary of The Whisky Wire and of my time in the industry as a whole. So what better excuse is there to pop open one of my last bottles of one of my all time favourite drams; Redbreast 12 Year Old Cask Strength - which launched just over a year into my professional whisky and spirits journey. A huge thanks to all those who have followed and supported me over the last 14 years - of whom I’ll be raising a glass to tonight! #TheWhiskyWire14 #Dramiversary #14thAnniversary #ThankYouForBeingPartOfTheDramfotainment #Whisky #Whiskey
