When I first got to Philly, I was a fish out of water. No connections. No place to live. I was at Temple everyday, crashing at Paley library. Someone saw me in stacks and said, “You need to go to Blockson”. His books changed my life. Thank you, Mr. Blockson.

How I see Florida: people who don’t care about Black people thinking they have the right to decide what Black people learn about themselves. Denying Black people access to knowledge for their liberation has always been a tool of our enemies and an undercurrent in US education.
