The prequels are a long way from masterpieces (though I think ROTS is actually good), but one thing they’ve got going for them is they’re fun and you don’t have to watch 16 different shows before you enjoy them

The main reason for the dead mall phenomenon, which is overstated, is that the OG anchor tenants (Sears, JCPenny, etc) cowed owners into agreeing to give up veto power over every aspect of management; a huge headache when they all went bankrupt due to vanilla market trends.

Let’s say you think this anti-weaponization fund is a good idea. It is a fair argument. But why do it now and not on November 4, 2026? That is the day after the midterm elections. The President could get it all set up and ready to go and wait until after the midterms.
Instead, now, Republicans have just one more issue they have to deal with on the campaign trail. It will, like the ballroom, put them on defense. You can’t afford gas and groceries, but the President just created a slush fund to hand your tax dollars over to his political allies. That will be the argument, and it will be a compelling argument, particularly if the January 6 rioters start cashing in after their pardons. Kamala Harris was for they/them, and it turns out Donald Trump is not really for you, unless you’ve shown enough loyalty.

RINO has always meant someone who ran for office as a Republican, but whose voting record was more closely aligned with Democrats. There are no more RINOs. Haven't been for a while. What we have now is a Republican Party dominated by populist radicals, with a conservative minority.

News — Nearly 2-hour meeting with Acting AG Todd Blanche and Senate Republicans was incredibly hostile, per multiple attendees. As many as 25 GOP senators spoke (this is very rare for these meetings), all in opposition to weaponization fund. R’s pitched specific ideas such as dictating how the 5 commissioners are chosen & not allowing people convicted of violence against cops to be eligible for a payout.
