An underrated feature of this situation: a private company now has incredibly powerful zero-day exploits of almost every software project you've heard of. And Hegseth and Emil Michael have ordered the government not to in any capacity work with Anthropic.

Introducing Project Glasswing: an urgent initiative to help secure the world’s most critical software. It’s powered by our newest frontier model, Claude Mythos Preview, which can find software vulnerabilities better than all but the most skilled humans. anthropic.com/glasswing

This would be a good time for: a.) STRATCOM commanders who implement orders to fire nuclear missiles to read up on Nuremberg and prosecutions for obeying orders to commit war crimes; and b.) for cabinet members to reread the 25th Amendment and have each other on speed dial.

Ran Whisper, Parakeet, and Gemma 4 across different audio datasets. whisper-large-v3 had major hallucinations on meetings (308% WER; v2 was actually better @ 25%). Parakeet-0.6B beat every 1.1B variant on meetings.

You know the real, permanent solution to all of this is to switch to green energy and make the Middle East largely irrelevant to global politics and the world economy, right?

@anneapplebaum "In Copenhagen a few weeks ago, I was shown a Danish app that tells users which products are American, so that they know not to buy them. At the time it was the most popular app in the country." It won't be long till this is worldwide. Surely it's already in Canada.

The Republican Party is telling us, with brimming confidence and zero shame, that it intends to make it harder for its opponents to vote and easier to control the outcome of elections. They are prepared to use every tool available to stay in power. democracydocket.com/opinion/there-…

This case against TicketMaster/Live Nation was supposed to go to trial this week. The DOJ, through multiple administrations, has been preparing for years. Trump just settled it instead, after firing the head of the antitrust division. There is apparently no amount of corruption too obvious to scare Trump away from it.

And Trump pardons Ticketmaster while no one’s looking.

NEW: Over 150k Texans this week faced deliberate voting barriers driven by Republicans’ decision to switch to precinct-only polling places. Why did Tuesday’s primaries descend into chaos and punish so many voters? As one GOP official behind the effort put it: “Because we can.” democracydocket.com/opinion/texas-…

A destroyed US 🇺🇸 THAAD AN/TPY-2 Radar worth over $600 million destroyed by an Iranian 🇮🇷 Shahed The US only has 8 THAAD systems, and 12-13 active AN/TPY-2 radars, which take years to replace. All this could’ve been avoided if the US worked with Ukraine 🇺🇦 on drone interceptors

The Trump DOJ has been taking down Epstein files. The massive tranche of files the Justice Department currently maintains is more than 65,000 pages shorter than what the agency initially released, according to a CBS analysis — and the number continues to fluctuate. cbsnews.com/projects/2026/…

There is no defense of the admin’s AI policy. It is literally destroying American AI companies, while exporting AI chips to Chinese AI companies. Incoherent, catastrophic, and unprecedented. Xi’s early 2020s crackdown on the Chinese tech industry wasn’t even this self-defeating.
