I paid a courtesy visit to Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) President Sukhbir Singh Badal at his Chandigarh residence today, following his recent foot injury in Amritsar. I was accompanied by SAD working president, Sardar Balwinder Singh Bhunder. Our discussion centered on important issues concerning the Punjabi diaspora, particularly the recent efforts by fringe elements to create divisions between the #Hindu and #Sikh communities abroad.
We also reflected on the invaluable contributions of the late Prakash Singh Badal in promoting peace and harmony among all communities during his tenure as Chief Minister of #Punjab, in partnership with the BJP. His legacy continues to inspire all of us committed to fostering unity and mutual understanding.
During my visit, I plan to meet with political, religious, social leaders, and intellectuals from across the spectrum, regardless of ideological differences, with the shared aim of advancing the welfare of the Punjabi community and safeguarding peace in Punjab. I also hope to meet our Honorable Chief Minister @BhagwantMann Sahib, schedule permitting.
As a humble #Sikh and a well-wisher of Punjab, I remain committed to these efforts for the greater good. It’s time for us to come together and collaborate for the betterment of Punjab.

@vocalhindu 84 attacks were not just by Congress,it was collective mindset, killing people and raping Sikh women. mistreatment continues today with fake charges, drugs, and targeting activists like Jagi Johal and Amritpal Singh. Canada and the U.S. have exposed this after the Nijjar case.
English

@jasrajput84 Not India but the ruling Congress government at the time. It is 2024, not 1984. There is no 'genocide' against Sikhs today and India continues to be home to the largest Sikh population in the world. The attack on the Hindu temple in Brampton shows these protests are not peaceful.
English

@vocalhindu India was responsible for the Sikh genocide and clearly has a genocide impulse, so who is truly dangerous for Canadians and humanity as a whole? Khalistanis are doing peaceful protests for Khalistan, which are not harming anyone.
English

@jasrajput84 Get off your high horse. Native Canadians would look at you and also tell you to "go back", you are not seen as any different. Spreading hate is exactly what khalistani extremists have been doing.
English

@vocalhindu @JessKaurr_ why are you here? Go back to your so-called paradise of 'development' and enjoy your 'land of opportunities' instead of wasting your time spreading hate here.
English

@JessKaurr_ Ah the classic "deport" jibes like all the racists are using. Atleast Hindus have land to go back to unlike your Khalistan fantasy.

Pro-Khalistani figure Mr. Gurpatwant Singh Pannu (aka American Neetu Shattan Wala) has once again issued a disturbing threat. This time, he has targeted the Government of India, Prime Minister Modi, and consulate officials, warning them to stay away from consular camps organized in Gurdwaras and Mandirs for issuing life certificates. In his characteristic hyperbole, he labeled these camps as “Death Camps,” alleging that the real aim is to collect personal information on the community.
Mr. Pannu must be reminded that these consular camps have been a long-standing tradition, hosted in temples and Gurdwaras on the request by local management committees. They provide vital services like Life Certificate for pension for applicants with Indian and non-Indian passports especially to seniors of Indian descent, who rely on these camps to complete necessary paperwork without the burden of traveling to consulates in downtown Vancouver or Toronto. It’s also worth noting that most beneficiaries of such services, including at the Hindu Sabha Mandir in Brampton, have been Sikh members of the diaspora—ironically, the very community Pannu claims to represent. Yet, these same camps were attacked by Khalistani elements while Sikh families were present inside, peacefully accessing consular services.
The mainstream Sikh community, Gurdwara management committees, and civil society cannot remain silent in the face of these divisive and dangerous actions. I urge those who have benefited from these consular services, especially senior citizens, to speak out and highlight the positive role these camps have played in their lives. The reality is that these camps are essential for our community’s well-being, and the violent rhetoric surrounding them must be rejected.
I commend the Khalsa Diwan Society Gurdwara, Vancouver, for their strong condemnation of such threats and for calling on the Sikh community to register maximum votes in the upcoming Gurdwara elections. It is crucial that moderate voices prevail to prevent Gurdwaras from falling into the hands of radicals, ensuring these places of worship remain safe, inclusive spaces for all.
Radical elements like Mr. Pannu do not represent the Sikh faith or values. Instead, they thrive on fearmongering and misinformation. It is time for the wider community to take a stand and ensure that peace, harmony, and responsible leadership prevail.

Once the new Trump-led US government takes control, the Indian government, particularly the Hon'ble Prime Minister @narendramodi should personally address the persecution of Hindu minorities in Bangladesh. Furthermore, it is time for the Ministry of External Affairs (@MEAIndia) to engage with the incoming US State Department to seek the prosecution and arrest of radical extremist fake Sikh Gurpatwant Singh Pannun for his role in promoting radicalization and inciting violence. #USAElection2024

@spvaid @narendramodi @MEAIndia Making such demands only shows a lack of understanding of complex global relations international diplomacy and law don't work this way
