@BlaqueRebirth1 @smoke_nd_pearlz Yes that’s what the restaurant would prefer you do instead of taking up a table eating food you didn’t buy from the restaurant. That’s literally the point of the outrageous fee

@mpalmarDO All the whiners please go look at the box score. There's only one glaring stat in ND's favor, EMO production. Period. They had 6 EMO's and scored 5 times. SU had 5 EMO's and scored 0. Same # of penalties w/ 1 less min. Fewer TO's, more FO's won, etc. Just stop with all the hate.

I’ve watched this team all year. This is nothing new. “The ‘Cuse stuff” has been an issue all season. After the Final Four loss, I asked Gait why he can’t get his team to play disciplined lacrosse. Here’s what he said.
The Crosse Commission@College_Crosse

I thought there was a path for Cuse to still do the Cuse stuff (turnovers, penalties, assorted dumb shit) and still win. It wasn’t going to come with McCool just being Ok. And honestly, not sure it was ever possible if you give up *Four* EMO goals

@RealSprat The brilliance of most of what can be discerned of Palpatines plot is that A: its completely nonreliant on him being a Sith or force user at all; its entirely political maneuvers. & B: it sets up so even individual failures can be capitalized on to advance the overall plan.

Never had trouble following TPM's plot/story, but I'm occasionally curious as to what Palpatine's plan was *before* the two Jedi (whom he's clearly surprised by) showed up. Presumably the same way it more or less happened: leverage sympathy for Naboo into advancing his career?
LBark@franzsherbert

The funny thing about Phantom Menace is that from a God's eye perspective the plot is pretty straightforward and comprehensible. It's just narrated in a maximally confusing and obfuscatory way, for basically no reason

@GarethElton @thrillhouse416 @neonnette Food waste/table space are the biggest ones. You staying at the table another 45 minutes eating a dessert you brought from somewhere else, is a waste of a table for the waiter and the restaurant. Better to get you to leave or continue running up the tab than to let you eat space

@GarethElton @thrillhouse416 @neonnette But there are a lot of other things you have to account for as the restaurant. Not selling your own food leads to waste which is lost money. The “cakeage” fees aren’t about the upfront labor involved, it’s all the other shit that customers never think about

Cake cutting fees are standard fare at nice restaurants. When I worked as a pastry chef, we charged $16/person, which was the price of our cheapest dessert. You get to bring your cake in, the restaurant doesn’t lose money on dessert (and they cut and plate it for you, too).

@nucknyan @justMizuyuki lol no the kitchen is the one doing the work. The waiter is not cutting and playing the cake. The hourly kitchen staff is. The cutting fee is for their labor, and to keep a table instead of getting turn over

I'm sorry to be a dog of capitalism or whatever but I think that if you're a rich person taking a party of 11 to a high end restaurant and bringing your own food and making them serve it to you so you don't have to buy it from them, 10 dollars per person sounds pretty reasonable

@thrillhouse416 @neonnette The restaurant isn’t just trying to replace the cost of their dessert, but also the cost of having a table sit around longer

@thrillhouse416 @neonnette The fee is outrageous so people don’t bring in their own cake. It’s a hassle and kind of counter to the point of eating out. If they know the fee and want to do it anyway, that’s on them. If you don’t want dessert from the restaurant you got dinner at, go somewhere else.

@superjplex @Adam__Clinch European clubs are apart of their community. Club soccer in the US is not the same thing. High school soccer is more akin to the community of European clubs

@Adam__Clinch What do you mean Europe doesn’t have a feel for community? European clubs are all about their local communities since most are founded as working class clubs, that is where the diehard fandom comes from, not some franchise bullshit sucking up to ownership

The US has been so focused on acting like Europe regarding club, we've slept hard on how much we could be leveraging what we have that they don't, and that's high school ball & the unique connection people feel to their school & community. You'll never ever see this for club.

parenting is often indistinguishable from running small psychological experiments. started doing something where, if kids misbehave, i immediately give them more responsibility. did not expect this to work so well. drawing odd conclusions on society and individuals based on this.

@jausti018 @kryssycakes @bcognoscenti Well yes, most kids make in retarded studies. Parental wealth subsidizes impractical college majors more than people admit. When your family has a safety net, the ROI of your degree matters less and then you grow older and turn left.
