2 guys hoaxed the other 5. They didn't do it in order to write a book. They were after the $100K National Enquirer prize for best UFO story, but only got $5K to split because Travis failed their polygraph.
Then Travis wrote the book to prolong the story.

Somebody tell @UAPGERB that just because you can google search people who used to work for aerospace companies doesn’t mean they’re currently part of or used be part of some made-up “UFO crash retrieval program”. And I guess we’ve moved on from Lockheed-Martin? Were the alien craft and bodies not there? Why is it Northrop Grumman? What happens if they’re not there, you going to target employees of another company on the list?
Also, James Clapper clearly doesn’t sound like a man in charge of overseeing said programs in this interview. Matter of fact, he doesn’t even believe in UFOs but remains open minded. If you’re the head of space alien craft and body recovery team, you would sound far more confident than he does in this interview.

Mike Rogers & Travis Walton orchestrated a UFO hoax in 1975. Mike died in Feb. His daughter posted an account of his confession on Quora in early March and directed me to the post (as we've talked before). She then deleted it. Hopefully she follows through with his request.

I asked former AARO Director Sean Kirkpatrick, Ph.D., about recent essays regarding the "Yankee Blue" program, published by @rossgarber on February 24 and February 27, 2026, both of which I have re-posted on this account, and both of which I sent to Dr. Kirkpatrick.
Among my questions to Kirkpatrick was this: "Garber suggests that, faced with AARO's discovery of the [Yankee Blue] enterprise, 'the Air Force may have shut it down preemptively to control the narrative,' but may yet continue to put out fake alien info in other ways. Given what you know about the Richard Doty history, and what you discovered about Yankee Blue, does this suggestion by Garber seem outside the realm of plausibility?"

On June 6, 2025, the Wall Street Journal quoted Pentagon spokesperson Susan Gough as stating, “The [Defense] department is committed to releasing a second volume of its Historical Record Report, to include AARO’s findings on reports of potential pranks and inauthentic materials." But nine months later, the government has yet to release any official documents describing in detail or purporting to explain any aspect of Yankee Blue. Nor do we have any explanation of why two full years have now passed without release of volume 2 of AARO's historical report.
