@AldiUK I appreciate the extra effort you went to on the naming of your @FeverTreeMixers knock-offs. Did “Sweaty Bush” not get through the focus group stage then?

Times must be hard for politicians. I’ve just had to skip 5 minutes into a politics podcast to get past the sponsorship and adverts for comfy mattresses. 🤷🏻‍♂️

@splendidthough There could - under more “normal” circumstances be a genuine tension between ‘get someone who won’t further destroy the country’ and ‘but not so convincing that people forget the horror show leading to this’. However at this moment all the energy is on avoiding the first one.

@jay_seal The Tory party is now so bereft of talent that anyone halfway decent has already been rinsed through the machine in the past 12 years - or crowded out by the Brexit Taleban. I’d say Ben Wallace looks more or less sane. But still also just because “it has to be someone”.

What are some movies where the twist is that the protagonist was the killer the whole time? I know two of the Hellraiser movies do this, and some low budget gangster movie I saw called King of the Avenue did it, but what other examples are there?

So sorry to hear of Hilary Devey's passing. I didn't know her well, but she really brought a wonderful grit to the Den; it was quite different to anything we'd encountered and audiences loved it. She'll be long remembered. bbc.com/news/uk-englan…

@leads Haven’t gone to see it yet (but totally will). Out of interest, on a scale of 0 to “tanned torsos playing volleyball and chest bumping”, how gay is it? 😂

@VesperAegis @Lioness006 @ABC Yes. I definitely remember thinking Gladiator would have been in my top ten films but for the fact they were speaking English throughout. 🙄

@Lioness006 @ABC It still makes the movies all the more disconcerting though and suspension of disbelief all the harder when theyre not representative of history in the slightest. Otherwise awesome movies like Gladiator would have been so much better if they had.

Experts said most of the dinosaurs shown in the movies didn't coexist during the same timeframe. In fact, they were separated by millions of years. What's more, many didn't even live in the same area. abcn.ws/3MKLeZk

@NicolaKelly Utterly unacceptable in a humane society. I would rather be naive and taken advantage of than so bitter and cynical that I accept that this outcome is somehow OK.

Less than two weeks after giving birth, Kemi received the first bill for her maternity care, for £4,900. Unable to pay the bill and cover rent, she was evicted and forced to sleep on the streets with her 6-wk-old baby, relying on food banks to survive. theguardian.com/global-develop…

@samantha52404 @GSpellchecker I think I probably do have a stronger mindset and know it would be harder for others to get to the same place. Maybe one day people will live and let live.

@newscientist Thus managing to - somehow - combine the existential threat from bio-terrorism and the 1983 film WarGames. Nice. 😬

@FondOfBeetles It’s possibly the most stupid post I’ve ever read on any subject. And I read a lot of posts on a lot of subjects.. so, kudos I guess?

Finance writer Frances Coppola tells her 70k followers that post-menopausal women are changing sex, like clownfish do. This is possibly the most stupid post I’ve ever read on the subject.

Ever think about how the main reason we see this image so often is the fact that none of the other memes about Survivor's Bias really lasted?
