🚨JUST IN: U.S. RECESSION UNDERWAY. According to the Sahm Rule it is. Named after FED economist Claudia Sahm: a recession is likely if the unemployment rate (3-month avg) rises by 0.5% from its low. Bloomberg reports it has been triggered. “Three-month average for the unemployment rate is 4.1%, which is 50bps higher than the 12 month low” Triggered in every U.S. recession since 1970, with only two false positives (1959 and 1969) which were just premature by a few months. Probably nothing.

I met a 16 year old fan in Dubai today and he asked me for some life advice. We ended up talking for 10 minutes. I'll share what I told him here, because it may help another young man out there. 1/ Don't make any major, life changing errors (e.g. knocking up a random woman you're not married to, drug addiction, criminal record) 2/ Take care of your physical health and develop good nutrition and exercise habits early. 3/ Learn a useful skill and consistently work at it. 4/ Don't follow the herd thoughtlessly. 5/ Keep going and be patient (he's already on a good track) Could have added more but that's what I told him. $582,000,000 spent every 24 hours worldwide to operate mining haul trucks. Each truck gets approx. 1/2 a mile per gallon, and you cant make #GreenEnergy without them. Things the green energy advocates and environmentalists never want to talk about.
