Starting in 1997, Congress quietly used a secret fund to pay off victims of sexual harassment and misconduct with over $18 million of our tax dollars — while keeping the names of the accused members hidden from the public.
Mace is trying to force the release of the records so Americans can see who used it — but her resolution was voted down 357-65.
"Up until 2018, there was a slush fund that taxpayers paid for that could settle disputes and sexual harassment by members of Congress and their employees or other Hill staffers, for example."
We need to know exactly which members used this secret fund that we financed.
Mace says there are definitely more Swalwells hiding in Congress.
