@DecodingFoxNews Nope-it’s a straight up propaganda outlet so they maintain their audience. These three love to kiss Trump’s ass. It’s so absurd cause we all know if these numbers were under a Dem- similar to Biden - they would have covered this at the top of every hour.

Charlie Hurt seems to think that a majority of Americans love Trump. I hate to break it to him but his own employer, Fox News, just came out with a poll that showed Trump's approval rating was under 40%. No one mentioned the latest Fox News Poll on the shows I covered last week.

@SenAlexander @chucktodd You have been a great public servant to your state and our country. My late father supported you in 1996. As someone who first started following politics closely as a young lad in the late 90’s- I appreciate these amazing stories you share in the book. I wish we had more ..

In Chapter 10 of my memoir, THE EDUCATION OF A SENATOR: FROM JFK TO TRUMP, I tell about watching President Lyndon B. Johnson disappear into the back room Capitol office of Republican Minority Leader Sen. Everett M. Dirksen while they wrote the Civil Rights Bill of 1968. This taught me a lesson about the “reasoning together,” as LBJ called it, that it usually takes to pass an important law. LBJ had told his vice president, Hubert H. Humphrey, “The bill can’t pass unless you get Ev Dirksen. You and I are going to get Ev. He’s got to look good all the time.” Johnson was not the only president who practiced “reasoning together." On the Nixon staff, I wrote memos for the president’s bipartisan meetings with congressional leaders. Democratic House Speaker Tip O’ Neill called Ronald Reagan the “worst president,” but they worked together. So did Sen. Trent Lott and President Bill Clinton, even while Lott was trying to convict Clinton in an impeachment trial. These lessons served me well as governor when I had to work with a Democratic legislature. In the Senate, it took a while for me to be able to work with President Obama. In his first six years, Obama achieved few bipartisan results. But later we worked together to lower student loan interest rates and on education and medical innovation laws that Obama called “Christmas miracles,” and the Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell called them the most important laws of that session of Congress. In THE EDUCATION OF A SENATOR: FROM JFK TO TRUMP, I paint portraits of the presidents I worked with, tell stories about what I saw behind the scenes, and recount the lessons I learned about American politics and our country’s future. THE EDUCATION OF A SENATOR: FROM JFK TO TRUMP is out now from @PostHillPress. You can order here: simonandschuster.com/books/The-Educ…

Everything about the DNC's handling of the "autopsy" suggests a party that did *not* want to examine its defeat in 2024. Yes, Democratic officials felt the need to *say* there was an investigation going on. But they didn't want to actually do it. washingtonexaminer.com/daily-memo/457…

@ByronYork Byron- you’ve posted at least 3x on the dnc autopsy but not one single post about the horrific Fox polls for Trump or one post or the 1.8 billion slush fund. Why is that? You engage in the same media bias you have talked about. It’s what you choose to highlight and do not.

I almost hesitate to promote this, because it wasn't really intended to be a piece. I just sort of sat down and it came out. Maybe someone else out there has the same type of day today, and it'll speak to them. realclearpolitics.com/articles/2026/…

The DNC autopsy: Did Democrats really want to know? Many assumed DNC chair Ken Martin was hiding an explosive document that would reveal his party's political malpractice. Now, it appears there's a lot about 2024 that DNC leadership did not want to know, and releasing the incomplete, sloppy autopsy would show the world that the party never made a serious effort to understand its failure. washingtonexaminer.com/daily-memo/457…

@guypbenson How embarrassing that we have a POTUS who talks more about a ballroom & posts crazy random shit during the night. Oh- not to mention a pathological liar.

@EWErickson The talk of “weaponization” is laughable considering it is THIS Justice Department that has been weaponized. For f*ck sake they have a big pic of Trump hanging from the building like this is North Korea! It’s utterly absurd.

Let’s say you think this anti-weaponization fund is a good idea. It is a fair argument. But why do it now and not on November 4, 2026? That is the day after the midterm elections. The President could get it all set up and ready to go and wait until after the midterms. Instead, now, Republicans have just one more issue they have to deal with on the campaign trail. It will, like the ballroom, put them on defense. You can’t afford gas and groceries, but the President just created a slush fund to hand your tax dollars over to his political allies. That will be the argument, and it will be a compelling argument, particularly if the January 6 rioters start cashing in after their pardons. Kamala Harris was for they/them, and it turns out Donald Trump is not really for you, unless you’ve shown enough loyalty. The President has played his political hand badly. ewerickson.substack.com/p/cashing-out

@marcthiessen @PostOpinions Let me repeat this again- your party is going to get walloped in November. This is not what they voted for in 2024 and his numbers are worse than Biden’s were. People don’t trust him and give him abysmal marks on Iran, economy and the cost of living.

I'm sad to see @StephenAtHome & @colbertlateshow go dark after being such a bright light for all of us at CBS through the years. Stephen & his team hold a special place in my family's story too. My eldest son likes to see pictures of when he appeared on the Late Show in mommy's belly many years ago. Just one of many joyful moments. m.youtube.com/watch?v=GVjn53…

@DavidMDrucker I should clarify- not that the main driver this year is the War w Iran although it has a huge impact on gas prices and economic conditions but the political environment and the intensity of opposition to the incumbent and the numbers generally are very similar to 2006.

@DavidMDrucker The main reason Harris lost-in my view-is that she was running to succeed an unpopular incumbent when most people were dissatisfied with the cost of living & the economy. It’s this same dissatisfaction about the same topics that has driven Trump’s numbers below the floor.

@DavidMDrucker I’ve followed elections since 2000 and this cycle is reminding me of 2006 when Dems won 30 seats in the House and picked up 6 in the Senate to take bothers chambers over dissatisfaction w/ the Iraq War. This cycle reminds of that year.
