Dr. Raghu “from Toronto” claims to have “observed” that temporary foreign workers and asylum seekers had not been part of clogging up Alberta ER’s. He’s obviously never set foot in an Alberta ER.

It greatly disheartens me, but at this point in time I would NOT advise any docs to continue practicing longitudinal FM in AB.
Govt is not going to invest to make that type of practice viable.
Do ANYTHING else… you have so many options.
Our govt simply does not value FM

This is why I’m closing my practice. My lease is up. No way am I tying myself to another one, and there’s no business case to move to one of the many clinics looking for doctors. The responsibility is heavy. I have given up hope for help carrying it, so I have to set it down.

Choices have consequences. No shirt, no shoes, no entry to a restaurant or airline flight. For a while also true of vaccination.
Choices are not immutable like skin color or gender. It is not discrimination.

If those under 18 already can't get gender-affirming surgery and if those 16-17 can't get hormone treatment without extensive consultations with doctors/psychologists (which Smith acknowledged in press conference)....what problem is Alberta trying to solve?

First, I have immense respect for pharmacists. I entirely support them considering Rx refills, giving vaccinations and measuring blood pressure.

I wrote this for @TheAtlantic because I was tired of hearing that my illness was a "journey" an adventure. Hosps should skip the travel metaphors, their focus on amenities. Instead use $$$ for care. From me

It’s always the generic drops that melt people’s eyeballs. Generics are great for things like ibuprofen and acetaminophen. For your eyes, stick to name brands: Refresh, Systane, Blink, Thera Tears
