I wasnt caught up in the Claude Code limit bug but my Claude Code is just rather braindead since yesterday. Maybe some of you guys had limit issues while some others simply got downgraded models? Hope everything returns to normal soon.

China just standardized the official Chinese term for “token” as “词元” (cíyuán). The naming debate is over. What comes next matters more: unified terminology is the prerequisite for government statistics, pricing regulation, and infrastructure policy. Context: daily token consumption across China’s AI industry has passed 14 trillion.

Crypto Winter reflections I've been in crypto since 2013, so quite a few years by now. I co-founded @Zcash, then moved on and co-founded @StarkWareLtd. In short, I've been here for a while. By now I've passed quite a few winters, so many, that I've stopped counting. I do notice that different winters have different flavor to them and I remember the last crypto winter. The one word I associate the most with the last crypto winter is SCAMs. Between the crash of Luna, 3Arrows Capital, and the cherry on the top – FTX, that winter was brought about by over-wild speculation and unethical conduct. In contrast, the current crypto winter feels very different to me. The phrase I use is TradFi Bear Hug. By this I mean that with the election of Trump and the warm embrace of regulators and large TradFi players of crypto, it seemed for a while that crypto found its destination: to become the new money, new financial rails, new infrastructure for doing all the stuff that Wall Street has been doing so far. But what actually happened is that this Bear Hug crowded out the true spirit of crypto, which is about Freedom of Economic Enterprise. This type of freedom means doing all sorts of wild, fun, crazy, new things that in TradFi world are reserved to the Fat Cats, and some of which are not even dared to be done by them. So, we find ourselves in a weird winter, marked by the smothering of the spirit of freedom by the big bear hug of TradFi. At the same time, there's a vacuum and lack of leadership. But change is on the way, I can smell it. It's Freedom.

@BrianRoemmele Having a home for all things AI where my agents live with a nice GUI and lots of apps that extend their usability and I use daily as well was very much worth it. The local llm part is nice but the gated currated environment is the main reason I enjoy my setup now.

@poezhao0605 It's a no brainer. We will bond more and more with agents and many will want them in different physical manifestations... among them... AI pets!

One of China’s most pragmatic VCs called AI toys his “boldest bet of the year.” A startup founder predicted 90% of AI companion hardware companies will be dead within 12 months. Both invested heavily anyway. What do they see that the retention data doesn’t yet support? That tension is the heart of this piece. hellochinatech.com/p/chinas-ai-to…

@cryptopunk7213 Yep and it is also obvious that our future interface will be agents. It is kind of a bittersweet moment when everyone can vibecode kickass UIs now but we humans will hardly use them soon.

🚨people are missing a very important detail from anthropic's launch: Anthropic's building an new AI operating system that directly competes with Apple and Microsoft ($6.4T val) Claude OS is anthropic's grand plan, look at this: - claude is now embedded across EVERY digital surface (phone, text, desktop, browser, CLI etc) which means... - claude now learns EVERYTHING about you. every file, app, document, tool, slack, email - it gets smarter - data is king: every second claude spends across your apps, the harder it is for competitors to compete. - it's not just openclaw thats in trouble, its every single white collar worker. computer use = digital human MacOS translates your clicks into desktop instructions. Claude OS translates your intent into completed work across every app you use. its pretty clear which is better. question now is will anthropic be able to pull it off in time.

Anthropic fucking killed it (again). biggest ai product launch of the year so far. claude can now control your entire computer autonomously. anything you can do on a computer - claude can. your very own digital employee. - any app, browser, file, spreadsheet, tool claude can intelligently access and operate. - claude controls your entire screen (like a human), no connectors. this is a huge step-up in intelligence. - best part: you can text claude to do things from your phone and it'll do work on your computer! - in the last week anthropic has shipped 9 features that have built up to this: a fully automated digital human. unreal

i should probably make a prediction. anthropic will be the first lab to achieve agi/asi it’s fairly obvious that research and talent are the moat. now obviously you don’t get a seat at the poker table without a few gw’s and a private line with mr jensen. but meta and microsoft are proof that those things alone don’t count for shit. so ok fine, we’re in the era of research. so let’s look at who’s at the party rn. xai: still kinda stuck in the chatbot era, don’t feel as strong on agency and coding. huge re shuffle is a risk. could pay off. let’s see. google: the code red kinda worked, but not really. again model lacks agency, smart? yes. useful? i’m yet to see it. so who out of openai and claude seem to have the best research taste and shipping velocity? well, in the last eight months anthropic have been far in front. first to see how importing coding was, skills, computer use, mcps, claude code, co work. i could go on. they’ve even built clawdbot before the company that bought it…like, cmon sam. i’m an openai stan in truth. but. this is clear. and i wonder if it’s all powered by a) vastly stronger models b) vastly better research taste c) dario’s vision and focus big year i’d say.

Today I'm excited to introduce Hark, a new artificial intelligence lab building the most advanced, personal intelligence in the world We've been in stealth for 8 months, assembling one of the greatest AI and hardware teams on the planet I want to explain why I started Hark and what we're focused on I've spent the last 3 years working on the hardest AI challenge imaginable: giving AI a humanoid body. On the digital side, I've been using all the existing LLM chatbots - and I have to say, they feel incredibly dumb to me AGI, in the limit, should feel like a sci-fi movie. It should be able to listen and talk. It should have persistent memory and be highly personalized. It should see and touch the world. But we're far from this today We are crafting a new interface to AGI. Intelligence that lets you offload your mental workload into a system that begins to think like you and sometimes ahead of you We started Hark with one goal: build the world's most advanced personal intelligence - paired with next-generation hardware designed to serve as a universal interface between humans and machines hark.com

@0xSammy Don't underestimate the attachment someone builds when they struggle with its creation! Most people will completely skip the super yanky phase of agents though!

Little known fact, the Anthropic Labs team (the team I joined Anthropic to be on) shipped: - MCP - Skills - Claude Desktop app - Claude Code It was just a few of us, shipping fast, trying to keep pace with what the model was capable of. Those early Desktop computer use prototypes, back in the Sonnet 3.6 days, felt clunky and slow. But it was easy to squint and imagine all the ways people might use it once it got really good. Fast forward to today. I am so excited to release full computer use in Cowork and Dispatch. Really excited to see what you do with it!
Claude@claudeai

You can now enable Claude to use your computer to complete tasks. It opens your apps, navigates your browser, fills in spreadsheets—anything you'd do sitting at your desk. Research preview in Claude Cowork and Claude Code, macOS only.

OpenClaw made agents mainstream and it will keep having momentum and probably de bloat over time but I don't think they will really penetrate the mainstream. In some ways maybe in China but most people will go for OpenClaw on rails with some hosting providers. No need for Antrophic to get into this. They would have dropped the ball if they wouldnt have realized what people want but look at what they shipped this week... they know exactly whats up.

Anthropic has justified why they didn’t acquire or partner with OpenClaw. OpenAI, which seemed to have made a great move by acquiring OpenClaw, now again seems to be falling behind. AI race is crazy!

For those using OpenClaw at a high level, what’s your favorite default model? I was using Nemotron 3-super locally on my Spark but it hits context limits too quickly. I’m mostly using Sonnet-4.6 now but API costs rack up fast. I love my claw but honestly haven’t optimized models and model switching as much as I should. I like the bigger context windows when building out new skills and automations so it doesn’t forget what we’re building but that’s also when API costs soar. I like my local models because I have a Spark for that reason but context windows aren’t great on the local models I’ve tried… Looking for advice from some more experienced OpenClawers.
