@niccruzpatane People want range. Stop the copium. We all know that ~350 mile range is actually 250-300 miles unless you’re driving in perfect temps/72mph and under. Take MS out of the equation that model is cancelled. Why can’t y’all just admit that Tesla is behind in charging and range?

Even if a Tesla had 500 miles of range, it wouldn’t change the trip much from LA to Yosemite, which is ~310 miles one way. There’s no way someone isn’t stopping at least once during the 5.5 hour journey. The Tesla with the longest range is the Model S AWD with 410 miles. During that one stop you are already taking during the 5.5 hour trip, the car charges, so you aren’t losing as much time as you think, if any. Plus, Yosemite offers many destination charging options, so your car can top off while you’re there, eliminating even more charging time. The biggest thing, @WilliamShatner, is that Tesla vehicles drive themselves. I’ve gone from Toronto to Austin, TX, without ever needing to touch the steering wheel. Over 3,500 miles total. Tesla Self-Driving handles charging and navigation, so you can just relax. The pros of road tripping in a Tesla far outweigh the cons. When you reach Yosemite, you’ll feel way more refreshed since you didn’t have to drive the whole way.

William Shatner@WilliamShatner

And for the #teslarites who don’t understand 500 miles. Time is money. How long does it take to pump a tank of gas? 4-5 mins versus 30. Early last week I went up to the Yosemite area (about 300 miles.) I got up there, did my thing and got gas (5 mins) and drove back. With a Tesla. It would be drive up (maybe on one charge) charge up 20-30 mins, do my thing. Drive back, stop along the way to recharge (again probably another 20 mins…) That’s too long. 500 would be one recharge so it’s 10 mins gas versus 29-30 mins which I would consider.🤷🏼

Carwow just released a new video to its 11 million YouTube subscribers titled: "Why Tesla Full Self Drive is Pointless!" @carwowuk misleads its viewers into thinking Tesla’s Autopilot is FSD, even though FSD hasn’t been approved in the UK yet. Autopilot isn’t meant for city driving, yet they test of bunch of scenarios that Autopilot wasn't built to do in the first place....

We should revive traditional clothing. So many cultures have really cool traditions and manufacturing techniques shaped by local materials and climate. Everything has become so homogenized now that many people don’t even know how their ancestors dressed.

@MikeFilm3 @zxylene2 @SawyerMerritt @carwowuk It is fun to see how high I can get it lol. I learned recently that Tesla counts FSD by mile blocks so if you drive 0.9 miles on FSD and the last 0.1 is manual the in car tracker doesn’t count that as an FSD mile. Tessie doesn’t do that and according to that app I’m at 97%!

@zxylene2 @SawyerMerritt @carwowuk FSD works great. There are driverless robots is in operation now. FSD drives me point to point every day. 93% of my driving is done completely by the car. The remaining 7% is mostly drive thrus, parking garages, and me having fun when I want to go fast.

Even with FSD has anyone got in the back seat of their car and expected it to drive? Or even the drivers seat and did not need to pay attention. It is crap that anyone can sue or that they would entertain any law suits. So they could sue any company really cruise control will cruise right into another car or off the road. No one really believes in FSD or they would get in the back seat. Same with auto pilot no one believes what they actually like or they would not even be able to leave the parking lot.

@JoshKale Lmao Tesla is great but take off the blinders. This is a great deal. Competition is a good thing as evidenced by the 3/Y’s stagnating range and charging speeds. This is objectively good for Rivian. BTW Cybercab is 5-6 miles/kw not 8.

Nobody understands how much of a disaster this Rivian <> Uber deal is Rivian lost $3.6 billion last year on 42k deliveries. That's $86,000 of value destruction PER VEHICLE that left their factory. Their solution? Partner with Uber to turn a $58K camping SUV into a robotaxi... to compete with Tesla's Cybercab... YIKES Every 12-18 months, this company finds a new partner to write a check: - Amazon: $1.3B equity + 100K van order - VW: $5.8B joint venture - US DOE: $6.6B loan - Uber: $1.25B robotaxi deal (today) The moment they announced the Uber deal, they admitted they're pushing back profitability AGAIN to fund an autonomy program that can't even handle stoplights. Tesla's Cybercab is purpose built at $25,000 with no steering wheel. The cost per mile math isn't even close. The Uber deal is to deploy 50,000 robotaxis by 2031. Slight problem: The car doesn't exist yet. The factory doesn't exist yet. The autonomy software doesn't exist. Manufacturing is HARD. good luck have fun

@BlessedMom_7 @happyathome44 @Rothmus @elonmusk There is no indoctrination happening in the education system. You’re just brainwashed to believe that there is. Yes, the majority of educators are liberal because they’re not fucking morons.

What a stupid reply. Considering I have a college degree as a pharmacist, what is your degree in? How old are you? The irony of you bringing up propaganda, which is what the liberal educators keep trying to indoctrinate in our children! Luckily, my children are also well educated. They never fell for their liberal professors, elementary school teachers or high school teachers trying to brainwash them. No teacher has a right to spew their political beliefs, opinions or try to indoctrinate our children. And, if the roles were reversed where there were more Republican educators spewing their propaganda upon your children, I believe you'd be having a conniption. My sister is an elementary school teacher, who's a Republican. She has NEVER, or ever would, try to indoctrinate her students based on her opinions or political beliefs. Do you not understand the job of educators in our school system? 🤡

@oi8achevy @NotATeslaApp @rhensing @elonmusk @aelluswamy Trust me it’s just as shit in the cities. I grew up in rural KS and have experience with FSD in KC and when going to visit my parents. The only solution I can see is to stop using OSM and to cut a deal with Google or Apple.

If we don’t get map errors fixed prior, many of us outside the populous bubbles will still have crippled robots. No version of robot is going to compensate when a high speed road is defaulted by the map data to 25mph or some lower value. It’s a very messy problem to fix. They literally need to send people back out and validate every mile of every roads speed limits. Rural USA doesn’t have much for physical speed limit signage so there’s no other solution but to have accurate map data.

@niccruzpatane German cars are adapted for German conditions including the autobahn, that is why they feel so much better and safer at 200+ kmh than French or US cars, at this speed (which is common in Germany) EV range is dramatically lower, probably not even 300 km for the iX3.

Unless you’re driving 500+ miles per day, you don’t need an EV with that much range. The average person drives around 37 miles per day. Current Tesla offerings provide way more than enough for the vast majority of people. On road trips, I can usually only drive about two hours before I need to get out, stretch my legs, etc. During that time, my car charges. It’s not the inconvenience people think it is. It doesn’t make sense to lug around a huge battery when most people don’t actually use that capacity.

@niccruzpatane Copium. People want range and we all know that 330 mile range becomes 250 or less real quick unless you’re driving 72mph or below in perfect temps. It’s annoying to stop for 10 mins every 120 miles. Tesla has fallen behind in range and charging speed.
