David thanks for this. The US and Israel are attempting to kill (and sounds like Iranians may have just confirmed his death) the second most senior Shia Muslim leader in the world, a religion predicated on resistance to oppression and martyrdom. He is referred to as the Supreme leader but it isn’t a political title, he isn’t the President.
We cannot assume expatriot communities and some Iranians in Teheran reflect the view of people in Iran proper, 93 million people. The foundation is being laid for blowback from a new generation of Iranians in Iran - the generation who have not have understood their parents and grandparents opposition to America.

By forcing the Director of Adelaide Writers’ Week, my marvellous, Jewish friend Louise Adler, to resign, they left me with no option other than to tear up my coveted invitation in public. It shows you one thing - these festivals only invite authors from the hard left to speak.

Throwback to when @Erin_Molan interviewed Hamas supporter Randa Abdel-Fattah and nearly had to walk off set. Abdel-Fattah has been praising Hamas since October 7 yet someone at the @adelwritersweek festival thought she'd be a faaabulous guest.

Has anyone heard from the SA Premier Malinauskas since the Adelaide Festival Board ( with his support) decided to discriminate against/ban/silence Randa Abdel Fattah & thereby trashed its esteemed AWW & lost support of its staff & the wider literary world?

So @Peter_Fitz @JaneCaro let me get this straight. In February 2024, @RandaAFattah wrote to the Adelaide Festival board advocating for the removal of a pro-Israeli speaker named Dr Thomas Freedman. She’s posted imagery of terrorists shooting kids at a festival not too dissimilar from the ideology of what occurred in Bondi Beach…so what’s good for the goose is NOT good for the gander? Got it!

15 Australians are dead including a 10 year old girl - there are many questions on how this could happen and how we stop this from happening again - but sure let’s go ahead and vilify parts of the Australian community in our national papers - they must all be following the drumbeat of a foreign leader for wanting answers!
