@tgiovanetti That’s part of the problem. We don’t want red flag laws even if Trump supports them. Cornyn had one job - spend his political capital to get the Save Acr passed and he instead chose to suck up to low T Thune.

All Republican politics is now symbolic. Nothing to do with substance. Cornyn was consistently supportive of Trump. The Republican grassroots fault Cornyn for considering red flag laws, but Trump was entirely supportive of red flag laws. Trump banned bump stocks too. While Cornyn was supportive of Trump, Paxton was slavering in seeking his approval. Because Paxton was more slavering in his Trumpism, voters chose him over the guy who agreed with Trump on red flag laws. #txlege

Some Republicans I backed won. Some lost. But now our GOP ticket is set — and you can be sure I’ll be supporting every Republican from top to bottom this November. The radical progressive left, led by their new hero James Talarico, is aggressively coming after Texas and the values that make our state strong. He supports a state income tax and open borders. He claims that God is nonbinary and believes that there are six genders — not to mention his support for abortion, on demand, up until 40 weeks, paid for with our taxpayer dollars. Bottom line: We Republicans must quickly heal and unite from these bruising primaries — and I promise to do my part to help make that happen. The Texas we know and love is worth it.

I simply don't get the analysis. Cornyn just spent more than $100 million (the most any Senate candidate has ever spent) to lose by double digits. Republicans would be insane to rely on him to defeat James Talarico (CIS) in November - the lack of enthusiasm for the 24 year incumbent cannot be overstated.

Did you see @KenPaxtonTX doesn’t want you to vote in the runoff? 75% of registered voters did not vote in either the Democratic or the Republican primary. Another difference between us: I want as many Texans as possible to vote. Why would you delegate your right vote to a small fraction of registered voters that may not reflect your values? Vote!
