@itsJohnRocker Who would be your ideal Super Bowl halftime performer if you had control over that decision?

@sweatystartup What about social media, same argument can be made

You're not a real estate guy if you have more than 5% of your net worth liquid. Unless you literally just sold something.
Sorry I don't make the rules
Sun Shak@SunShakSunday
Most of the real estate professionals I know have the bulk of their net worth tied up in real estate. I'm trying (v hard) to be the opposite: Current Net Worth Breakdown: - Cash & Equivalents: 24% - Equities: 40% - Crypto: 3% - Real Estate: 33% What's yours look like?

The Industrialist is one of the best podcasts in the industry. Always a nugget of insight and lot of fun in between. Thanks @jbmatcap

@ImBreckWorsham One difference is that your rent can go up every year but your mortgage payment should remain constant
English

@CaseyMericle I think there needs to be more disclosure for the sellers his groups buy from. They are still on the note and it is still on their credit. I sold a deal like this in the past and it was a nightmare for me.

@Chazzym22 I have college grads text me about getting into the industry. I never respond. If they called me 5-10 times I would meet with them

25 yr old recent college graduate wants to break into CRE. He has called me, emailed me and txt me no less than 5x on each medium over the last month asking for a job interview.
Finally met him. Young, hungry and aggressive. Impressive guy.
He asked me if he was too annoying in his pursuit of an interview.
I said “Yes. But that’s also why you’re sitting here now. Persistence in sales is everything”
Update on where this goes with him
soon!

Last week I was in Santa Monica for Reconvene—great event, great people, and time well spent.
Big thanks to @moseskagan and the team for building something real.
Didn’t take many pics but grabbed one with @bavedikian & @CaseyMericle — both past guests on my podcast, The Industrialist.
Check out their episodes below!

@tyleralley @bavedikian I think one of these temps should actually trade before we can say these teams are really worth these new valuations

It's fine if we disagree. I can understand the unproductive perspective.
I'm glad they wore the shirts so that I get to tell people that the Dallas Wings' franchise value jumped from $75m in 2024 to $240m in 2025.
All while Paige Beuckers gets paid $75k/yr.
It's obvious to me that:
1) The players have earned a much bigger split of the revenue (all other leagues seem to be ~50/50 split)
2) And that the owners (through operating losses) and players (through below-market salaries) have shared in the losses and pain to get this league going and both deserve credit for doing so
English

Don’t understand the WNBA player criticism at all here.
The players have done their job to make their product more popular and profitable as reflected by:
- Signed New TV Deal which will result in league profitability as soon a it kicks in next year
- Team Values soaring
- Dramatic increases in ticket sales, merch, viewership, etc
The new CBA is forward looking.
The new tv deal is forward looking.
The increased team values are forward looking.
The players pay being negotiated as part of this CBA should be forward looking.
Most these players weren’t even in the league the last time a WNBA TV deal was cut.
Not sure what it is about the WNBA that makes smart people all the sudden financially illiterate, but I am cheering for the players to be financially rewarded for taking a failing project and turning it into something popular and profitable.
This is America, afterall 🤷
Sincerely,
WNBA Season Ticket Holder
P.S. On the other hand, think the Colbert jokes are totally fair!

Imagine being an employee at a company that has NEVER turned a profit and showing up to work in these shirts.
