@Harry62985792 @larnefc The council own the pitch it’s up to them to make sure pitch is playable. No different to the time inver park was closed in 2017 due to lack of safety certificate as ground needed remedial work that council didn’t do.

Some news! 📰 I am delighted and honoured to have been nominated and shortlisted for Backbencher of the Year in the Parliament News Awards 🥲🙏🕍 It feels very humbling to be the only MP from Northern Ireland on the list! And it is a privilege to be on the shortlist with some very talented and long serving Members of Parliament, Ministers and other Honourable members. Being an MP is very, very different to being an MLA and nothing can really prepare you for it. Although I've served at both Local Government and the Northern Ireland Assembly, it really is a very unique role. It is what you choose to make it and all I can hope is that I'm doing the people of Lagan Valley proud, the people who gave me the opportunity to serve my hometown in this very special role and for that I am more grateful than you will ever know- thank you 🙏

Drains are owned and maintained by Stormont, where MLAs this week are totally concerned with matters within their remit… like visiting schools in the territories of Palestine currently illegally occupied by Israel…

Back to back meetings with constituents today and I have to say there is a real sense of hopelessness from people in NI right now.
They can’t afford childcare, can’t get support for their SEN children, sofa surfing and can’t find a home. People working every hour God sends and still can’t afford to live. I could go on and on.
No wonder we have a mental health crisis here. Our basic services are not accessible and not fit for purpose.. Nothing is working here.

@naomi_long Do you know what won’t sort it? A big billboard in every time. Words are cheap!!! I’m surprised it’s actually only 1 in 8 given the state of the drug problem and addiction in the country and the lenient sentences drug dealers are getting.

The Misuse of Drugs Act locks NI into a criminal justice approach to drugs completely limiting any ability to move to a health led approach. Nothing will change if we are ultimately continuing to do the same thing.
