Talk about a freshman with an extremely high ceiling—Mississippi State’s Madison Francis sits near the top of that list. The Lancaster native, who ranks second in the country in blocks, is averaging (12.4) points, (8.4) rebounds, and (3.2) blocks across a stretch of five consecutive games against ranked opponents. At 6-foot-2, Francis has already shown the ability to consistently guard positions 1 through 5. She’s effective getting downhill in both the half court and in transition, and while her jumper remains an area for growth long term, she’s not hesitant to take it when available. Francis is on a trajectory to become one of the country’s top players in the seasons ahead, and she’s already carved out a place among the game’s elite defenders right now.
