Free agent guard Jordan Goodwin intends to sign a three-year, $19 million deal to return to the Phoenix Suns, with a player option in the third season, sources tell ESPN. Goodwin made the Suns roster out of training camp on a non-guaranteed contract and emerged as a key reserve and culture fit, averaging 8.7 points, 4.9 rebounds, 2.2 assists, and a team-high 106 total steals.

That’s a great outcome for Brooklyn. Both Keaton Wagler and Mikel Brown Jr. offer a lot to be excited about as key cogs in Brooklyn’s rebuild.

I wonder if the Nets would sniff around the possibility of acquiring Jaylen Brown amid blockbuster trade speculation. Brooklyn has the assets to land a star-level talent, as well as an incentive to be competitive next season without control of its own 2027 first-round pick.

@BillyReinhardt He had one healthy year but in general he's hurt a lot... i don't like it unless it is pretty much a salary dump by the Pels. If it's something like Claxton and Mann for him and maybe a pick (i don't know if it works financially) fine but otherwise, i wouldn't trade for him.

If Giannis Antetokounmpo is traded to Miami, it’s almost a foregone conclusion that Milwaukee will call LA and offer No. 10 and No. 13 for their No. 5 selection. Milwaukee has held/will hold a pre-draft workout for Darius Acuff Jr. and Mikel Brown Jr.

As of June 8th, with the draft a little more than two weeks away, I believe the Nets’ selection is likely to be Mikel Brown Jr. or Nate Ament.
I’m expecting Keaton Wagler to go 5th and be off the board for Brooklyn. Both Brown and Ament fit what Nets look for most with positional size, ceiling + scalability, pedigree, & character. They’re similar types of prospects — one in guard form, the other in forward form.

In the Kevin Durant era, Jerami Grant was a long rumored target for Brooklyn. The Nets were even considering offers for Grant leading up to the 2023 deadline before being blindsided by Kyrie Irving’s trade request, which led to KD’s, and blew up the team.
But Grant might make some sense in Brooklyn this offseason depending on which way the Nets go in the draft. If Brooklyn goes guard or big rather than wing/forward, Grant, now 32, could be a Swiss Army knife forward next to Michael Porter Jr.
Grant is coming off a year in which he averaged 18.6 points per game on 60.9 TS% and 38.9% from three. With just 2-years, $70M remaining, Grant could be an efficient scoring, versatile defending, veteran stabilizer for Brooklyn while allowing them to maintain future flexibility.

The Nets need to draft Acuff, no more projects for now. Does this front office get that? Acuff you can argue is the most polished offensive guard in the draft. He’s a player that will make everyone around him better. He’s got star written all over him, stop with the overthinking nonsense and positional size project clown show.

Most fans wanted to move on - tank - after 2023. Plan was to play the probabilities, get highest picks and most picks so they could build organically, move when opportunity arise. Bad luck intervened. Unfortunate. It shouldn’t be a surprise where they sit and #6 pick ain’t bad

@NetsDaily My point is that some people talk about Marks drafts as if he is some kind of genious that finds gems all the time and he clearly isn't. Tbc, i am not one of those people that blames Marks for everything and wants him gone but talking about drafts, he is not as good as people say

Between 2011 through 2024, Nets had exactly no picks above #20. Not just no lottery picks, but no picks in the top-thirds of 14 consecutive drafts, primarily the result of trades for superstars, KG/Pierce (King) and Harden (Marks).

@NetsDaily Yeah but even knowing all of this we can argue that Marks has 4 good picks in all those years. Allen, LeVert, Sharpe and Clax. We can't say the same about Noah and i like Egor and Nolan but we have to wait. I'll give the benefit of the doubt to the others from last year too.
