@dotnwat ... but today it's different: if your data path is in Rust/Go, the ergonomics are so good that there's really no need to switch languages for the control plane. So when there's a chance to unify it all in one language, choosing one language that does perf+ergonomics makes sense

@dotnwat The ideal is to segregate the latency sensitive I/O path: e.g. Ceph crimson OSD. But then you have to decide what language to write the rest in. In 2010s it was obvious that data path had to be C/C++ and high level bits couldn't be...
