.@JetBlue we leave in 4 days, we paid for seats so our family can be together, and then you abruptly change our seats, putting our 5&8yo kids 9 rows behind us…and claim to have a Family Seating Guarantee that automatically seats kids with an adult on the reservation?!?

.@SanofiUS @sanofi You created an immunization for our most vulnerable patients and then you failed to make enough?! And instead of saying “we’ll work harder to make more” you say “jk, we’ll do better next year”. We need more #Beyfortus NOW! Do better.

We are horrified by the recent Israeli bombing of Ahli Arab Hospital in #Gaza City, which was treating patients and hosting displaced Gazans. Hundreds of people have reportedly been killed. This is a massacre. It is absolutely unacceptable...

Our own policy statement shows that armed conflict disproportionately impacts children. Every child deserves a childhood free from violence, terror and suffering.

.@PeterHotez Thank you for all that you do! Spent extra 40min with couple who want child vaccinated "in a safer way" following Dr. Paul Thomas's recommended schedule. Hadn't heard of this person/schedule before. I'm disheartened that families take the opinion of one over many.

@mcatee_md @jbcarmody Yes! I felt underprepared for primary care peds post-residency instead of if I had chosen to be a hospitalist. So much time spent inpatient/PICU/NICU in comparison to continuity clinic, DBP, CAP, GenPeds clinic, Adolescent…but I guess in the end it leaves us with more options.

The ACGME just released new program requirements for pediatrics - some of which may significantly change the way we train future pediatricians. So who wins - and who loses - under the new requirements? You guessed it - it’s time to break it down, Winners & Losers™️ style. 🧵

@jbcarmody I suppose it enables more programs to keep training pediatricians when pediatric ICUs and hospitals are closing. Smaller programs can send their residents to other programs to get the experience?

LOSER: Critical care. Old requirements called for a minimum of two 4-week blocks of NICU and PICU. New requirements call for 12 weeks of intensive care total, with at least 4 weeks of NICU and 4 weeks of PICU.

@jbcarmody Agree it’s a loss but I wonder how many programs can actually function without their residents doing more than the minimum in the ICUs. We did 2 months of PICU (plus cross coverage) and 4 months of NICU (plus cross coverage). 2018 grad. Primary Care Pediatrician now.

.@moderna_tx PLEASE don't forget to make the pediatric COVID19 vaccine available in pre-filled single-dose syringes AND decrease the minimum order! At this stage, mostly newly minted 6mo are getting the vaccine. Smaller practices will never have the volume to do 100/month.

.@MassDPH Please update guidance for PPE use in primary care, esp given upcoming end of National Emergency. We can no longer be the only place attempting to mitigate spread. We need to return to prior clinical care!

Unpopular opinion but if a trainee asks you a simple medical question that you can answer in 2 min during rounds plz don’t ask them to look it up themselves when you have the needed information at your immediate disposal. It’s both discouraging and inefficient. Agree? Disagree?

.@moderna_tx Please consider selling your pedi vaccine in smaller batches AND single-dose pre-filled syringes! Pediatric offices would love to make this part of routine care but, esp if privatized, too many doses wasted given volume of kids turning 6 months old each month.

.@Moderna_tx & @pfizer please start making the pediatric COVID19 vaccines in single-dose syringes so we can stop wasting so much vaccine! Pedi offices do not have the volume for the minimum order and 10-dose vials makes for a lot of wasted doses if given at well visits!

.@Moderna_tx Please make smaller minimum order for 6m-5yo #covid19 vaccine! Pediatricians do not want to waste so many doses! We may not have 100 kids turning 6 months old each month at our practices! Pre-filled syringes is another dream we have - help us out?

On the same day that we began administering COVID-19 vaccine to infants and children under 5, I was removed from the Florida Healthy Kids Board for advocating for equitable access for the underserved and for pediatricians. Disappointing. @FloridaAAP @AmerAcadPeds @CNN
