~~Some personal news~~ Back in 2014, I built my first two @Shopify stores which ignited my entrepreneurial journey. I have been working in startups ever since. Fast forward 10 years: I’m thrilled to say that I’m rejoining the Shopify ecosystem as the Head of Marketing at @getshoplift. Shoplift is the first A/B testing and CRO platform natively built for Shopify stores. I met Austin back in January and we hit it off quickly. Austin, Jason, and their NYC-based team are incredible builders and humans. Shoplift’s future is bright and I’m very excited to be a part of it. Some personal news. Today is my last day at Branch. Unfortunately, I was part of the second wave of mass layoffs that were announced this week. I’m processing all of the emotions that accompany times like these. After my last mass-layoff, you all rallied to get me back on my feet quickly—and I’m about to ask you to do that again! A quick moment of reflection on my time at Branch… Here is a small sample of the things I’m proud to say my team accomplished during my time: • Simultaneously grew topline and gross margin of our Direct channel MoM for every month that we invested in it • Shepherded two much-deserved promotions, one stellar new hire, and three transfers onto the team in 10 months • Built the first bottoms-up new business forecast in the company’s history • Launched the company’s first-ever Retention function • Rebuilt the Account-Based Marketing (ABM) function from scratch and stuffed the pipeline with qualified leads • After the first round of cuts, had our claims and agency teams’ backs with marketing support But most importantly, I am proud to say that I grew as a leader, as a marketer, as an insurance expert, and as a human being during my time with Branch. To each and every Brancher I had the opportunity to work with—even if it was just a casual convo during Welcome Week or Branchfest—I want you to know how much I cherish those memories and will carry them with me for the rest of my career. I will always “get your back.” So please: use me as a resource from this day forward. Lastly, thank you to everyone who’s already reached out and asked how they can help. If you’re reading this and wondering the same: I am on the lookout for my next thing, I would appreciate intros to your network, and I will be sharing those details in a forthcoming post.
