Gotta love the cellular provider experience in Canada. @Rogers increased my bill 37% (discount expired and was only mentioned in small characters in my previous monthly bill). Then lists plans on rogers.com/plans as if they were available to you but not really. After some more hoop jumping, you cannot get clarity if a listed promotional offer truly applies. 10 years with Fido and 2 years with Rogers about to go down the drain 🚮

@jpvalery @thenewarea51 I actually feed FR24 and FlightAware already with a little raspberry pi installed in my attic! I have built projects that use their "unofficial" API before, but their proper API is quite expensive (and not free for feeders/hobbiests!)

@jdhardng @thenewarea51 I’m assuming flightradar or FlightAware API? (If you plug a raspberry pi with a dongle antenna, and broadcast data to them, you get a business tier account for free)

Here’s cool ADSB website that makes visualization of aircraft and airspace pretty easy. It’s call airloom.

@jpvalery I have an Action 5 (which I love!) so I’ve been eyeing the 360 too! Might wait for the 2nd iteration. We aren’t allowed to film at work unfortunately.

@jdhardng For outside the plane shot it’s simply perfect. I was starting to look at insta360 and that’s literally when DJI released the Osmo360—and since I already had the mounts and batteries for the Actions, it was a no brainer

Oh, I forgot to mention that I was now doing aerobatics (cause flying planes wasn’t enough obviously, I had to stunt them) Pictured below: the avalanche (or when you combine a loop and a snap roll)

Modern aircraft still use 1970s tech for wireless comms (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ACARS) so maybe we will start using Zigbee too in another 30 years haha 🤷‍♂️ Sweet, I figured it would be something like that, but there are no referrers in my analytics for email traffic!

@jdhardng @home_assistant Zigbee will still live long because there are countless of smart home owners with these devices :D Yeah, I got to it from the Hacker News newsletter. I'm an avid jet fighters fan so I had to dive into your blog ;-)
