@probnstat 100%, assign each prisoner to a “bit” and each bottle of wine its own unique binary encoding (eg wine bottle 0 = 0000000000) with 10 prisoners you can comfortably test up to 2^10 bottles of wine =1024 <1000 bottles.

PROBLEM: There are 1000 bottles of wine, and one is poisoned, chosen uniformly at random. You have 10 prisoners, and you can use them in any way you like to determine which bottle is poisoned. When a model converges, it can be because of saturation, or because the training data is not good enough, or because the training is already perfect...

The most intriguing line of the llama2 paper: "...the models still did not show any signs of saturation".
