My father is a doctor of jurisprudence and is perfectly fine not being called “doctor” as an attorney. It’s the clinical use of the term that’s intentionally line blurring and not ethical. With a vast difference in training and expertise, the clinical use of the term doctor is synonymous with physician and always has been. Patients deserve to know who they are seeing because it makes all the difference in their cost of care and health outcomes. ama-assn.org/practice-manag…

Being able to ask good questions, prioritize actions, and filter signal from noise will be increasingly crucial skills in the new age of AI, and certainly more attainable and defensible long-term positions than being the domain expert in a specialized field.
