I like being a dad, stocks, leverage, nicotine, hotels, and Coca-Cola. I work in wealth management/family office services. Personal thoughts, not advice.

@mtns2ocean September. It was 110 degrees the day I left in 2011….

Just left the best dinner of my life. This place earned a Michelin ⭐️ the last three years and I have been anxious all day about my kids’ ability to get through the meal. But they did phenomenal - they ate all 10 courses of nigiri including eel and sea urchin. Not only did they not complain but we got compliments from all the staff as we left. Chef Tomu laughed at my son multiple times but in a good way.

@DadInvest Flying to Reagan is the trick, waiting for rental car is different story.

My wife and I have been talking about it for years but we finally did it: we’re taking the kids back to DC!

@ActuallyFinance @TheFredmeister I actually love your ranking there. But that’s the Appalachian in me.

1.) food quality - incredibly high, eg they source their fish from Tokyo fish market.
2.) service - insanely high attention to detail. If you haven’t watched The Bear, watch the “Forks” episode in season 2 — exactly like that. Everyone cares so the standard for the service is much higher quality than a typical restaurant. It honestly makes me jealous and strive to be a better worker/teammate/leader seeing them work together.
English

@DadInvest How does a restaurant set itself apart and earn a Michelin star when it’s essentially just serving fish on rice? Other than quality/freshness of the fish.
English

@TheGrainiac Was it just the togetherness, the tiredness of being on your feet that made food taste even better or was it an experience? We’re doing the touristy stuff: memorials, capitol tour, air and space museum, but looking for input if there’s something else we need to hit up.
English

@DadInvest Best vacation we ever took which is ironic bc I was the only one that wanted to go at first. Everyone wants to go back but I’m afraid to bc I’m afraid it won’t live up to the first time.

@TheFredmeister I’m sorry I brought that filth into your comments, but Chris really is a good guy. He was being hyperbolic/sarcastic.

@MoS_Investing @CuiBonoCapital @novogratz Our economic engine is 3% real gdp growth: 1% population growth and 2% technology/productivity. We do not have enough natural births to support ourselves, so we have to import more people.
English

@CuiBonoCapital @novogratz assuming its a birth rate issue?

We need to rethink our stance to being so anti-immigrant. While correcting open border policies was necessary we are way over correcting. America needs 2mm immigrants a year. This year we are probably zero. We need both labor and highly educated immigrants. We should give green cards to masters and PhD grads from top 250 universities. It’s insane to educate the world’s best and brightest and push them out.
Another issue that needs to be and should be bi-partisan
