I live in Alberta, every August for the last 6-7 years our skies have been orange and our air thick with smoke from California wildfires. Not once did we threaten or even blame America.

I spent the last few months talking to people across the political spectrum, and to people who want nothing to do with politics at all. Here is what I learned. We are not a divided country. We are a country being divided, on purpose, by an American oligarchy that profits from the fight. They’ve captured our government, denied our healthcare, looted our treasury, and saddled us with crippling debt. I believe in a New New Deal. Healthcare as a human right. The right of every family to a decent home, and an end to endless wars. And a dividend paid to every American from the AI economy, because these machines were built on the whole of human inheritance. That inheritance belongs to all of us, and not just to the handful of men playing God with our very existence. And none of it happens if we just move on. Donald Trump, his family, and his administration are robbing us blind, not just of our money, but of our faith in one another, and they have to answer for it. Truth and reconciliation, not revenge. Then we break the system that let them do it. The question is not whether we will lose our democracy. The question is whether we will fight to take back what has already been stolen. I learned in recovery that you can’t heal what you won’t name. Neither can a country.

@BirthgiverLynn @LydiaPurpl97107 Well, heres what's happening in the US so, who is mismanaging? And the entire US would fit into Camada's forested area

@LydiaPurpl97107 Canada can manage the forests. Canada’s government has cut the forest management budget over the last 4 years instead of increasing it. Canada’s politicians are failing its citizens.

For those Americans that think anyone can "manage" these forests, please we would love to hear your suggestions. Serious responses only. Rudeness, name calling, and smart-ass hate will be an instant block.

@ReshiRed_ @Luv2gofastHoltz @volcaholic1 The entire United States would fit into Canada's forested land which is uninhabited and unreachable. A person that was halfway intelligent would understand there's no way to fight these fires. Or, explain how and give examples

Would you look at that. Smoke drifting up to Canada from the massive wildfires burning in Oregon and Washington. The US National Weather Service Spokane shared this satellite image showing active U.S. wildfires. Driven by mid-to-upper level winds, this massive smoke highway is tracking straight north, blanketing eastern Washington and northern Idaho before invading southern British Columbia. It completely flips Trump’s bizarre rants about punishing Canada. Turns out the atmosphere flows both ways.

@matt_artist115 @smalls2672 If you think a bullet touched trump, enough to cut him, but healed completely two days later without a trace? You're a special kind of stupid

@smalls2672 Delusion. If you think Trump staged a bullet slicing his face, you are actually braindead and know nothing of the real world.

Maga, just so you are aware. Us on the left have been patiently waiting for you to finally figure that it was trump's people that staged the assassination attempts on trump to garner more of your support and are the ones who took out charlie kirk because his usefulness had run its course. And butler wasn't the first time trump sacrificed his own supporters. He also got ashli babbitt killed as well. You've always been useful idiots.

Large amounts of wildfire smoke are moving from the northwestern US into western Canada this evening! What should we do? Try to stop it at the border? Should we tariff it? Should we sue?

@berniemoreno This is smoke coming into Alberta Canada(Waterton Lakes) from the western US. We get this literally every year now, and have for about the last 10+ years. We're tired of it, but instead of sanctions, we send fire fighters, fire planes, etc. You're an idiot and a bad neighbor

One of my fellow Michiganders posts about how bad the air quality is because of Canadian 🇨🇦 #wildfires, followed by something along the lines of “we should go up there and handle it.” Yeah sure buddy. You head on up there 😂 Every wildfire season, a certain kind of American catches a whiff of Canadian smoke over the rust belt and instantly credentials himself as a bonafide expert in managing a few million square miles of boreal wilderness he couldn’t find on a map. “Why can’t #Canada just put the fires out?” My brother in continental geography. We can’t put our own fires out… The US has thrown decades of eye-watering budgets at wildfire. We still lost Paradise in a morning and Lahaina in an afternoon. But by all means, keep posting to social media about those dastardly #Canadians. Canada is the second-largest country on earth, close to half of it forest, much of it with no roads and no way in. These fires move 20 to 30 kilometers a day. You can watch every acre burn from orbit in real time and still not lay a hose on it. In the future, maybe support climate science, conservation, and forestry if you want to breathe better.
