I founded a game studio… in 2003… A boot-strapped startup with a tiny contract( a hand shake agreement at GDC ) with Intel ($5k) to make an Open GL ES hardware accelerate game on windows mobile for their new device (PDA) they were making with Dell. We made Solterra, a Starfox esk on rails space shooter. It sold 26 copies. I’d do it again.

November 12, 2024 UE5.5 comes out of preview.. 4 months.. for these companies to push upscaling so hard you would think it is a priority to enable developers, instead held back from upgrading engine version. With a few weeks to go this comes "right on time", thanks i guess

Intel's new Raptor Lake architecture (powering the 6GHz Core i9-13900KS and others) is insanely fast. Not just a record clock rate, but I'm also seeing an IPC improvement around 15% over Intel's previous generation in the code I'm running. Wow.

@psjarlo The ISPC build step is done first to generate the headers C consumes. Then link the ispc and C obj files into the final binary.

Benchmarking tips: make yourself a power plan that clamps CPU freq to min/max 99%; this disables turbo boost and generally speaking locks the frequency at base-ish, which helps get more stable measurements (works on desktops!). I've only learned this this year from @rygorous 🤯
