I've competed in over 1,000 golf tourneys in my life, but tonight, I'm playing in a golf simulator tournament for the 1st time at The Victorian Tavern in VTA.

We had to get up early because Big Boy's schedule had changed, so we headed out of the mountains into the Great Central Valley outside Lincoln, CA. It was a cold, rainy day, which made for some dramatic scenes. We parked by an "at-grade" crossing where trains usually blow their horns. We were not disappointed! Why was it going so slowly? That paid off big time for us as another train was coming, and Big Boy had been put on a siding track while a freight train passed. That allows us some time to get up close and personal with the massive engine.

Just did a radio hit on @SoCalRestaurant regarding service charges vs. tips so let’s keep it going here. An automatic service charge does not automatically go to the team. It’s revenue to the business, and ownership decides how (or if) it’s distributed.A voluntary tip or gratuity? That belongs to the service team. If you’re ever apprehensive, ask a business to remove the service charge and instead distribute as a tip directly to the server.

Jungleland was an animal theme park in Thousand Oaks that many still miss. Kids could get their photo taken with "tame" lions. Unfortunately, one of the cats mauled Jayne Mansfield's son Zoltan Hargitay in 1966. He had 6-hour brain surgery & almost died. The park closed in 1969.

When the graves were relocated circa 1945, many tombstones were not and disappeared. The current Dizdar Park renovation has unearthed two from the early 1900's. They will be moved to PV Historical Museum.

Stop 13 - Dizdar Park The Pleasant Valley Cemetery was built here in 1874. By 1945, the cemetery had been neglected while the town children had no park to play in. Mike Dizdar funded the relocation of graves and the construction of a new park. Park is named in his honor.
