@jefffuel Actual functional cause of this may be a bit different but this is seems to be the final effect looking at the black box of the legacy collision system from the outside.

Tracked down a weird bug in Subway Dogs this week. Noticed that food would sometimes hit the ground early, a few pixels above where it should and then drift into place. Checked and this isn't an issue in the current live PC and Vita versions. So likely GMS2 related? 🧵

@spookysquid purely guessing, but that dnd snippet just snaps the obj to the floor collider, right? not sure how it would cause early floor contact. i'd suspect something weirder like mismatched flight-bbox vs landed-bbox, etc.. especialy odd that its platform specific

Just realized I still needed to add "x += hspeed;" when it first hits to avoid a small snap downwards in some situations. I hate having to recreate existing physics. Just way too hard to test properly.

So pulled up the floor collision code. I don't remember writing action_move_contact(). But it's probably where the issue is? Turns out it's one of the compatibility functions Game Maker creates when converting from Game Maker Studio 1.4 to 2.

#GoldenEye007 the "c button" mapping u really want: map abxy to dpad, Lshoulder to A, Rshoulder to B, and RightTrigger to RightZ. Note you'll need 1 bogus map of Right stickclick to A so switch accepts. This feels most like 64 to me, just with A&B moved to shoulders.

@Kyle_Itzy im 90% sure I tore a tendon in my thumb last week, torqueing a thing way way way too hard. I definitely heard ripping sounds. sigh

@GreyAlien @SquaredApe pointless necro - my truck has a slow power bleed (remote start I think), so I put a charger on the battery...but, in the -35C of last week, it just errored out with an orange light LOL got a better charger, but this week was warmer... we shall see merry xmas btw :-)

@jefffuel @SquaredApe Yep. I fully charged it yesterday. That’s what took 5 hours or so. Nevertheless I drove around and back home without stopping in case I couldn’t start it again. Battery blankets sound cool.

Right gotta test if I can start the car as we got a flat battery due to the cold weather and lack of use. I charged it fully yesterday so am hoping it has held the charge. Perhaps it's time for a new on anyway. Fingers crossed!

@GreyAlien @SquaredApe Fwiw, driving 20 min will not be enough to charge a battery back up (say if you jumped it just to get going). Don't make the mistake I did and turn it off at the store, stranding yourself there LOL Also - battery blankets (can u spot the Canadian)

@SquaredApe Yeah cold weather does drain them or make them less effective or something, plus lack of use. I've got a 7 Amp 2 stage charger that took about 5 hours I think.
