His fans are legion. His trusted voice & analysis of the challenges we face, as a nation & as individuals, is no more. We will surely grieve this great loss, give thanks for his contributions & renew our determination to preserve, defend & extend the greatness that is America.

He loved America, understood America, and told her glorious story to millions of Americans every day. He demolished left wing extremism with logic, facts, truth and wonderful humor. His importance to the health of this nation and her people cannot be overstated.

Mary and I are terribly saddened by the loss of the Great Rush Limbaugh. He has truly been a magnificent voice for America. Over the last four decades he has been one of this country’s most valuable citizens.

Mary and I send our best wishes to wonderful Annette and Richard and our sincere appreciation for their vital and continued service for the state we love.

I send my thanks for Richard’s friendship for me personally over the 20 years we served together in the Senate and afterwards. I cherish that partnership, which was productive in so many ways for Alabama and the nation.

The announcement by my friend and colleague, Richard Shelby, that he will not seek re-election is a significant moment in Alabama history. No one in the history of the Senate or Congress has delivered more financial benefits for Alabama than @SenShelby.

God rewarded his efforts, and this nation has benefited to a monumental degree. Let us all pause to remember his life and think how this one man, empowered in the spirit, has blessed us all.

In so doing, this great man helped change an entire culture for the better and advanced reconciliation among our races to a degree that has occurred in few other countries. He lived by the belief that justice and truth, steadfastly advanced, overcomes.

Alabama has lost one of its greatest native sons with the passing of Congressman John Lewis. His courage and relentless efforts were selfless and engendered respect, and even awe, in so many. He was truly exceptional.

Although this chapter is closed, we all must continue to stand up for what’s right – in the right way. Alabama IS worth fighting for, and America IS worth fighting for.

Ours is a state of honorable, decent, conservative, Republican people. Doug Jones is on the other side, he’s a foot soldier in the ambitious army of @SenSchumer. Plain & simple, @DougJones cannot use Alabama as a platform to advance such an agenda. The stakes are extremely high.

We fought a good fight and the people of Alabama have spoken. So many people have helped me in this campaign and over the years, they love this state and I love them.
