founder doomscrolling: 1: "thrilled to announce our seed" (for your idea) 2: laser-eyes anon claims AI just made your company a feature 3: random vc explaining the funding market with an unlabeled chart + x article 4: a tweet telling you to stop scrolling and start building (but first like and follow)

Extremely excited to announce our first air-to-air kill of a flying moth by an autonomous micro-drone. This is a big step towards completely eradicating mosquitoes.

We're on track to hit $4M ARR in under a year. 🚀 Getting from $0 to $20k MRR was by far the hardest part. So we documented everything that got us there: • Every traffic channel we used • Our daily growth playbook • The exact outreach scripts and messages • The systems we repeated every single day No fluff. Just the playbook that got us our first $20k MRR. Want it? Repost ♻️ so more founders can see it. Comment "20k" and I'll DM it to you.

spending $1000 on inference over the weekend to vibecode your toy app is like spending $1000 on gas fees to mint an NFT in 2021. a few years from now this will seem insane and we’ll get whatever the AI equivalent is of an L2 blockchain…harness rigorously optimized for costs

@michael_chomsky they're raising at 20-40m NOT raising 20-40m only companies that raise anything over $10m are multi-x founders or revenue at $3m +

how are you even supposed to die if you raised 30M? yc startups are raising enough these days that i’d imagine it’s pretty hard to die i wonder if anyone else seeing this pattern: -fde your way to 30k mrr -raise 20-40M -realize fde rev isn’t saas rev and is hard to scale -pivot to selling data to labs or copy another yc startup that you know is actually doing well my sample size is small here but this is def happening, i just don’t know the scale btw not saying this is necessarily super bad, but maybe bc of my plg background it feels like an iffy path for a generational company
Kathryn Wu@kathrynwu1

When we graduated from YC two years ago, the message on the slide was simple: don’t die. Survive long enough, and your odds go up. That used to be enough. But now there are too many median startups that technically survive. The new bar is not “don’t die.” It is don’t accept becoming a median startup.

Someone asked what the scariest thing I’ve seen in SF is. How am I supposed to convey the horrors of seeing people eat at The Melt in broad daylight?
