As we continue working on the Codex, I should ask: what do founders want out of an investor/funding research tool that the market isn't providing?

Codex is already pretty great. There is a "Lead Investors" field but no data for that field. I assume that data is not easy to get, but it would be extremely helpful. I'd like to know which investor was involved in a round, and who else that investor has funded. Also, I need to know how to contact a given investor, if I am fundraising for a startup. Some investors welcome cold DMs, others do not. That kind of data is very valuable.

It’s always seemed strange to me that companies are built an email at a time. Small wins, a consistent pace of accretive events. The big inflection points sit on top of endless tiny wins.

@ElissaBeth Good suggestion. The primary issue with seed and pre-seed is how sparse the data set is. Most rounds don’t get announced and those that do are hard to accurately categorize.

Hi @harris. This tool is really great, thanks for making it available. I sent it to a startup I'm advising, with the note that the selection options start at seed (they're pre-seed.) It would be great to add "pre-seed" as a category, even if current pre-seed rounds are often very high.
