JSNT (Journal for the Study of the New Testament) is looking for a new booklist/book review editor. The call is linked here and is a great opportunity for editorial service in the field for those who might be interested (there is an annual stipend). journals.sagepub.com/page/jnt/callf…

@jenn_straw That's amazing. Presumably you are in Headington? Roughly whereabouts was this taken? (If I retweet, people are bound to ask me)

Earlier this week I found out that I have officially been accepted to train as a priest in the Church of England. If you know me well, you’ll know that this has been such a very long process, and I’m so excited to finally share this news. Deo gratias!

@HeadingtonNews There are three massive Thames Water trucks on Dunstan Road/Stoke Place (with temporary traffic lights) working since before 9am this morning. They were on Stoke Place yesterday as well where there has been a constantly running drain since before Christmas.

What started as a conference in Covidtide is finally in print, offering a deep dive into Deliverance from theological, scriptural, mental health, anthropological, cultural, and safeguarding perspectives. So grateful to the amazing authors in this volume and especially co-editors.

Really delighted this work from and for Lambeth over the last 5 years will be available more widely: reflections, bible studies, and 5 homilies (from @esthermombo, @pauloueti, Isabelle Hamley, +Paul Swarup, and @jenn_straw). Also, this new book by @BenFulford1 looks excellent.

@virginmedia Yes. It says 'your service has been temporarily disconnected.' I'm just curious this happened within HOURS of me giving 30 days notice for my contract with Virgin.

@virginmedia my contract ended and a helpful person assisted me in cancelling it from 25 March. Within 12 hours of cancelling, my internet went out due to ‘network error’ and is still out a day later. First time out this long in 7 years with you. Coincidence???

For Paul folks considering SBL in San Diego this year, take a look at the Pauline Theology section and the call for papers inviting paper proposals exploring questions related to both (1) the interpretation of Pauline ethics and (2) the ethics of Pauline interpretation.

@MadsDavies There was a new BAP system in 2022 & the online bits didn’t work when rolled out so for months no one was able to move in the process. That’s what we were told in theological colleges when numbers plummeted with the promise they’d be back up in 2024 once the new system worked…

Numbers recommended for ordination have fallen in recent years, from 591 in 2020 — the highest for 13 years — to 510 in 2021 and 378 in 2022. Thoughts on why... (Something else I've heard is that it is harder to recommend under the new selection framework)
Rob McDonald@Robert_McDonald

@MadsDavies My guess: - Uncertainty about future ministry - will there be a curacy?/Will I have to run 18 churches? - internal divisions over PLF - what does the church believe? - challenges making it work for families - moving and supporting them on a stipend that’s worth less than it was
