Tired of native scrollbars looking and behaving consistently across your entire OS? JS scrollbars replaces them with a laggy inconsistent per site overlay scrollbar, taking away your OS accessibility options while breaking native scroll interactions and customization.

Tired of native scrollbars looking and behaving differently across Windows, macOS, and mobile? OverlayScrollbars replaces them with one beautifully consistent overlay scrollbar, giving you powerful customization options while perfectly preserving native scroll performance and accessibility.

Joined the design team at @opencode! What better way to start than playing around with colors and elevation. Currently experimenting with 0.5px borders and 1px weighted icons 🛠️

@antisymmetrics that's what they say, I was messing a Solid.js dropdown and it was paint flashing EVERY dropdown on the page when ANY dropdown opened. like, the little triggers flashed green all over the page but only the one you clicked opens

my recent contracts have ended (and my buffer’s running a bit thin) so I’m looking for what’s next spent the last year focused on OSS work, which I’ve loved, and now open to new opportunities. if you’re looking for a dev, pls to reach out! shared more about how I work below 🫡

Ops. I forgot the good old social media title change PSA I recently joined @neondatabase as a Señor Fullstack Developer not DevRel anymore, writing product code and shipping open-source like never before! You'll hear from me about that soon. Lots of data, vibes, and bricks 🧱

@fscgo @kobaltedev Actually should be doable with `getAnchorRect` already. Completely forgot and overlooked that one.

@jer3m01 @kobaltedev It’s true, on larger elements, the transform coords result unexpectedly to users. Since the style uses a transform() without CSS variables, how could I override it to use a custom XY pos?

Can I override the placement of the Tooltip or Hover Card in @kobaltedev, @jer3m01 It resolves to a transform(X, Y, 0); But I'd like to place the card where the cursor was when the Trigger switched to expanded.

@bobaekang @RyanCarniato @solid_js Tldr from Ryan; Repeat is non-keyed like Index but optimized for stores, it only runs when length changes (no diffing) and the content updates because the `messages[i]` call is reactive.

I think this would be a cool demo to do in @solid_js: Store + Repeat. The exact same reason this would be good for a sync engine apply to fine-grained rendering. We can add and edit rows without running any diffing logic.
Ryan Carniato tweet media
Aaron Boodman@aboodman

It would. I was just talking about this with @theo and thinking about it. For this UX here where a paragraph shows up at a time, Zero (or other sync engine?) would be easy and perfect. You could overwrite the same row on the server on each chunk/para. It would transmit n! data, but n is small (number of paras) so whatever. This is actually maybe part of the reason Grok has this UX – it's saving to db behind the scenes on each para boundary. If you wanted to be maximally efficient you could also model it as one DB row per chunk. I want to add a simple blobdiffing heuristic to Zero so that users don't have to even make this choice and if you overwrite the row in an append loop we'd detect this and only send the change.
