@AHSodergren @HagenSnellBB Agreed, but IMO the downside risk of going into tonight's game w/a short bullpen outweighs the downside risk of DFA-ing Kimbrel. Not sure what the plan is if McLean gets knocked out early -- I guess in theory Peterson could pitch, but that takes him out for Thursday.

Good bullpens usually strike gold in unexpected places and develop/utilize their own power arms. Warren is the piece of gold for the Mets - at age 30, 58 ip in 5 prior seasons, suddenly a savior of sorts, acquired on waivers from SF. Now Mets need a homegrown young arm or two.

@HagenSnellBB IMO they should just DFA Kimbrel today and get a fresh arm up, then option that person tomorrow. Only actual fresh arms in the pen right now are Duarte and Williams. I can't see them pitching Brazoban/Myers/Weaver back to back unless they absolutely have to.

Pen is taxed, Thornton making his debut tomorrow & Peterson bulk outing to follow, I’d expect to see Kimbrel DFA’d
Duarte could get optioned. He’s now on 40 man after exercising upward mobility clause
Team needs some fresh arms for 2 starts that could be all hands on deck

The Mets absolutely poured it on in the 12th, but they never even get that chance if not for the heads-up, aggressive play by Brett Baty in the 11th to get the lead runner Joey Wiemer instead of taking the easy out at first. That was the game right there.

@WexlerRules @Mets For sure. Just seems like today is the obvious timing given the bullpen usage last night and lack of any other roster flexibility. (After the Rico Garcia fiasco, pretty sure Austin Warren is safe.)
