@Cinaboncrusader If you don't like what a brother / sister Catholic is doing, first pray for them. Then talk to them. Then pray more for them.
How does blacklisting help?

@TwoApostlesName The Antietam name causes confusion because of the famous Civil War battle that took place along the Antietam Creek in Sharpsburg, Maryland. However, "Antietam" is not unique to Maryland; it is a Native American name historically applied to local waterways, with different branches

I abstain every Friday. But that is a personal choice. What the Church permits neither you nor I have any right to criticize.
You can call the rule weak and soft if you want and suggest returning to more traditional penitential practices would benefit everyone. But you don't get to decide. The Successors of the Apostles do. And you don't get to judge those following the rules Church sets down.

Let us pray with today’s Gospel Reading (Matthew 13:24-43):
Lord Jesus Christ,
You remind us that the wheat and the weeds grow together until the harvest. Help us never to lose hope when we see evil, suffering, or injustice in our world. Give us the wisdom to trust in Your perfect timing and the patience to believe that Your mercy is always at work, calling every sinner to conversion.
Examine our hearts, Lord. Reveal the weeds of pride, selfishness, anger, jealousy, dishonesty, and unforgiveness that may be growing within us. By the power of Your grace, uproot whatever separates us from You, and cultivate within us the fruits of faith, hope, charity, humility, and peace.
Lord, teach us not to be quick in judging others, but to imitate the Father's patience and compassion. May we always remember that You desire not the destruction of sinners but their repentance and salvation. Help us to overcome evil not with hatred but with goodness, prayer, forgiveness, and acts of mercy.
O Holy Spirit, strengthen us to use the precious gift of our freedom wisely. May our words and actions sow seeds of reconciliation rather than division, hope rather than despair, and love rather than hatred. Make us faithful disciples who enrich Your field with lives of integrity and holiness.
Lord, bless our families, our Church, and our world. Protect us from every form of evil and help us to persevere in doing good, confident that You are the Lord of the harvest and that Your justice and mercy will ultimately prevail.
May the Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of the Church, intercede for us, that we may remain steadfast in faith and become good wheat gathered into Your eternal Kingdom. Amen

This is interesting. I’ve heard so many regular Mass-goers insist that hell is incompatible with divine love, that I make it a point to preach on hell once a year.
But I never seek to arouse a fear of divine judgement. Only to explain that hell is a consequence of freedom. And I always end with Fulton Sheen’s sage advice: “Saints fear hell but never deny it; great sinners deny hell, but they do not fear it.”
Fr. Gabriel T Mosher, OP@lukei4655
I never preach on hell. I don’t understand why anyone would. Maybe a reason exists? Certainly hell is a real consequence. However, I think it’s better pedagogy to point people toward the good. Preaching is, after all, ordered primarily to the movement of the will to the good.
