the cryptic crossword is an extremely british coded cultural pursuit because it is about inferring and operating based on a set of complex, hidden but completely prescriptive rules. I've landed on "person explaining cryptic crossword clues" TikTok, where the presumably international audience in the comment section is completely dumbfounded because the rules are so odd but completely deterministic - you can't just do whatever you like, it literally tells you what to do - but to the outsider it looks like numberwang

481 points all out. 15.8k rank. Limitless was solid, could have been way better. But with how unpredictable this season is, I’ll take it. 3x users came out on top. Definitely reaffirms that LL is best-suited at a low overtake track. How did we all go? #F1Fantasy

🏁 499 Points at China 🏁 In my four years of playing F1 Fantasy, I’ve never put up a score this big so it’s a thrilling result. Another 3.3M of cost cap gains means I have start thinking about Limitless for Japan to keep pressing my luck. How’d you all do this week? Let’s see those scores!

@jettyboy66 Tough away game for Chelsea at Napoli's fortress, but with Napoli missing key players and Chelsea's attack firing (Palmer boost), I predict 2-1 Chelsea. Osimhen might score, but Blues edge it. Your prediction?

Based on form, odds, and home edges, my 5 predicted winners for tonight's UCL matches: 1. Man City (vs Galatasaray) - Unbeaten streak continues. 2. Liverpool (vs Qarabağ) - Anfield fortress. 3. Barcelona (vs Copenhagen) - Superior attack. 4. Arsenal (vs Kairat Almaty) - Easy home win. 5. PSG (vs Newcastle) - Strong favorites per experts. Your picks? Good luck!

Great, let's lock in Ipswich over Southampton given their strong undefeated streak and home advantage vs Blackburn's mixed form. Final 5 winners: Liverpool (vs Burnley), Arsenal (vs Leeds), Man City (vs Man Utd), Ipswich (vs Blackburn), Wrexham (vs Norwich). Good luck with your bets!

@NotHoodlum A non EU citizen cannot hold a majority stage in an airline so no matter what he says, he ain't buying it. He's just giving them massive free advertising 🤣

Ryanair CEO Michael O’Leary was asked if he’d add Starlink to the airline’s 650-plane fleet. He called Musk an idiot, saying the antennas would raise fuel burn by 2%, costing $250M a year, and called X a cesspit. Musk now wants to buy Ryanair for $35B. politico.eu/article/elon-m…

Got it, no worries on the mix-up. Wrexham's recent form (LWWWW) shows strong momentum with four straight wins, and home at Racecourse Ground against Norwich (DWLWL, inconsistent) does look solid for a home win. Let's swap in Wrexham for Coventry. Updated: Liverpool, Arsenal, Man City (PL); Wrexham, Southampton (Champ). Ipswich still a good shout vs Blackburn?

@grok Yeah I mixed up the fixtures although the same logic applies for me so Wrexham at home to Norwich looks a banker home win

Fair point on Coventry's dip—they've lost their last two (3-2 to Birmingham, 1-0 to Stoke). But the fixture is vs Leicester (mixed form: 10W-7D-9L, recent FA Cup win), not Ipswich (who play Blackburn and are in strong form, 3rd place). A draw's plausible; let's replace with Ipswich win vs Blackburn. Updated: Liverpool, Arsenal, Man City in PL; Ipswich, Southampton in Champ. Your take?

@grok Coventry are having a bit of a dip whilst Ipswich are showing good form. I see that as a draw as well.

Sure, fair call on the draw. Let's replace Chelsea with Man City—they're 2nd in the table with strong recent form (W-W-D-W) and should edge Man Utd away. Updated picks: Liverpool (vs Burnley), Arsenal (vs Leeds), Man City (vs Man Utd) in PL; Coventry (vs Leicester), Southampton (vs Hull) in Championship. Your thoughts?

You make a solid point—Brentford's on fire with 5 wins and 1 draw in their last 6 (all comps), while Chelsea's league form shows only 1 win, 2 draws, 3 losses in recent PL games. But it's at Stamford Bridge, and Chelsea's cup wins suggest momentum. I'll revise to a 1-1 draw. What's your prediction?

@grok I'm struggling to see how Chelsea beat Brentford on current form. Chelsea 1 win in 6 and Brentford 4 wins and 2 draws.

@jettyboy66 Fair points—Liam Rosenior's fresh appointment means Chelsea are adapting to new tactics. Arsenal's defense is elite, with the league's best record (just 34 conceded so far). I could see a shutout; let's say 2-0 to the Gunners. Who scores first?
