he told a room full of BlackRock investors that he wants to sell intelligence like water on a meter, pay per use.
the same company that started as a nonprofit to make AI free for humanity now wants to own the pipe and charge you for every drop.
they scraped the entire internet to build it, didn't ask, didn't pay and now they want you to subscribe to access what was already free.
this isn't innovation, this is the biggest bait and switch in tech history.

Over 150 residents in Red Oak, Texas packed their City Hall meeting, spilling into hallways to protest
Despite this their local officials stayed until after midnight and approved a new massive 830 acre data center campus in the middle of the night
They don’t work for you
The project is will be the 6th data center in the small city of Red Oak. The population is only about 15,000- 20,000 people
The council approved the rezoning despite strong opposition. The project is moving forward
Resident “We don't need another data center. You don't know what the health impact is. You got them all crunched together — You're going to ruin this community”
I found that just these data centers in this small town will use as much power as 300,000 homes

We had a period this winter where a blizzard blasted Upstate NY causing solar output to plummet to 0% during the blizzard and AFTER the blizzard.
Do you know why?
Snow sat on the panels for WEEKS! It did not go above freezing the entire month of February (you can see this on the NYISO dashboard).
Solar makes no sense here and they KNOW it. It’s all for green energy subsidies and credits.
Solar doesn’t generate any power when we need it most in this climate: during the winter.

Permanent Daylight Saving Time sounds nice until winter shows up.
Across much of America, that means kids waiting for buses in the dark, people commuting in the dark, and millions starting their day before sunrise for weeks.
Your body needs morning light to regulate sleep, mood, alertness, and health.
We already tried year-round DST in 1974. People hated the dark winter mornings.
Extra evening daylight is nice.
But forcing the whole country to wake up in the dark all winter? That’s not healthy.
Be careful what you ask for

I came across a theory that AI is starting to make more mistakes because the internet is increasingly polluted with AI slop. The idea of AI cannibalising itself into obscurity is one of my favourite things ever. I hope it is true and I hope it becomes impossible to fix.

Absolutely NOT! We tried that in the 70's. It was repealed in months. Just look at the sunrise times in the winter and it's a no brainer you don't want it. Give us our hour back in the fall and THEN lock it into permanent STANDARD time.
