@SJBasketbal8 TPE imo could be more valuable than everything they used when Diva man decides who he signs with, there will be a scramble for cap space.

@jggomes what do you mean then if it’s not 2nd round picks? no player other than nembhard was moved for the “dart throws”

y’all acknowledge the team is at the beginning of a rebuild and still expect every hole to get filled in one offseason. i truly don’t understand it
Niegel Stevens@Niegel_Stevens

@SJBasketbal8 This roster is still short shot creation and guard play so the premise isn’t wrong. I would love for us to find a young combo guard/POA to round out the young core

@SJBasketbal8 It’s been a good offseason. My only question is if the dart throws don’t pan out, they’re more depleting resources than replenishing them.

In 2013 Anthony Bennett was the 1st pick. He had an awful rookie year (4/3/0.3 35% and 23%) and YET he was the main piece going out alongside Wiggins to bring Kevin Love to the Cavs. The same stuff was written as it’s now about Risacher. But the return was an all star, not Nemby

@downdevastating @JDCowboys2 @Frank_5599 Bro.. it’s more than 48 hrs since FA started. Also, he was only able to get a partially guaranteed vet minimum contract. Gafford is not a capable player? Yall paid him 54m last season. If he can be replaced by a 2nd year player on vet minimum, it only shows poor asset management

Dallas matching the Knicks for Cisse is pure comedy. Traded a 1st for Gafford and gave him $54M, drafted Morez at #9, traded for 7ft Aldama. Cisse is a 4th-string center on this roster. Now they have to cut a guaranteed deal just to let him ride the bench. Make it make sense. 😂

@townbrad Brad. Great story makes a lot of sense but it doesn’t because the number 1 pick that they’re acquiring from Atlanta has not lived up to the billing. Secondly, they’re trading yes a player that was not drafted but played very well last year. Nembhard is a pure PG like Kyrie

Last season's Mavericks roster had 3 No. 1 overall picks: 2011 Kyrie Irving, 2012 Anthony Davis, 2025 Cooper Flagg. Irving, Flagg and 2024 No. 1 overall Zaccharie Risacher doesn't quite have the same ring, but it'll be intriguing to see if Dallas can untap Risacher's potential.
Shams Charania@ShamsCharania

BREAKING: The Oklahoma City Thunder trading All-Defensive wing Lu Dort to the Atlanta Hawks in a three-team deal that sends three second-round picks to OKC, former No. 1 pick Zaccharie Risacher to the Dallas Mavericks and Ryan Nembhard to Atlanta, sources tell ESPN.

@dlee4three There’s absolutely zero sense in the Mavs letting Cisse walk. He will get Nembhard’s spot.

The 5 players to average at least 5 OREB per 75 and 8 DREB per 75 last season, sorted by OREB per 75: 1. Mitchell Robinson (former Knick, lost to BOS in free agency) 2. Donovan Clingan (POR cornerstone) 3. Moussa Cisse (extended offer sheet, potential Knick) 4. Andre Drummond (Knicks signed him in FA) 5. Robert Williams (POR unwilling to trade, injury risk) With Clingan/Timelord unavailable and Mitch cost-prohibitive, the Knicks have done a great job using minimum contracts to approximate what Mitch brought to their roster. Cisse has a massive frame & hits all the rebounding thresholds despite his inefficiencies on offense, NY is likely betting the stronger offensive infrastructure will help him be a better finisher. Finding proficient rebounders is relatively trivial, the brilliance in the Knicks roster construction strategy is the way they structured the rest of the roster appropriately so they can identify players who complement the core without venturing into the 2nd apron. Dallas has a tough decision to make, you need these cheap contributors as you continue to build out around Coop. They like Ryan a lot (I wouldn’t hesitate to replace his slot with Cisse to be honest) and I don’t think they’re in a rush to trade their expirings. Cisse is worth retaining but is the cost of sweetening the pot for a team to take PJ/Gafford/Caleb Martin worth it overall?
Shams Charania@ShamsCharania

Restricted free agent Moussa Cisse has agreed to a two-year contract offer sheet with the New York Knicks, sources tell ESPN. His salary is half guaranteed in the first year and 2027-28 is non-guaranteed. The Dallas Mavericks have 48 hours to match or not.

Last year, I walked away from my weekend stay in Vegas for SL thinking that Mo Diawara was ready for an NBA contract. This year, I feel the same about Vsevolod Ishchenko. Ways to go on both ends, but I can see a clear vision as to how this works in the NBA

We have Max, drafted Sergio and just added Sasser and Biberovic. Are we waiting on someone who can shoot with their feet instead of their hands?
ryan weiss@rdubyafan

@Yeeeerrrrobi Klay is staying until we find another guard that can actually shoot. We only really have Kyrie right now

@MavsFilmRoom He's been playing good rotations on D as well, coupled with his size, that's great to have.

Without even reaching his peak ceiling, Sergio can be a great pick at 25 by: - Being able to be a playoff rotation guard - Having the size to play next to smaller guards like a Kyrie - Making others better with passing - Being able to be a spot up threat playing off of stars

Why would the Mavs not be jumping at the chance to absorb Strus into the AD TPE for a pick?
